Reviewing the boxing schedule and it appears Odlanier Solis will be making his American debut on May 17 in Miami, Florida. Solis's opponent is TBA.

Although it's very young in Solis's professional career, how good are his chances? Do you think he can be a solid contender in a mediocre Heavyweight division or another Jorge Luis Gonzalez?

He has real potential, especially in a HW division that is fairly weak right now. His biggest problem is not his lack of skills/talent though, it's his lack of motivation. Although he has been dropping a few pounds this year, he still comes into every fight overweight and his performances have not been very impressive.

I've also noticed in his last fight his stomach muscles were very loose. Not good. If he could do something about those flabby abs I would give him some consideration.

According to his promoter Oener Solis as well as Gamboa and Bartholomy will probably appear on the same fight in Las Vegas, may the 17th.
