I think the bout happens likely later this year or may 17", and although I understand both sides of the argument I love how fans act like GGG possibly having to fight at a cw is some huge travesty.
Like MW is so historical and a cw degrades its legacy, especially when the two most recent Great Undisputed/Unified MW Champs Martinez and Hopkins both did it to get the breakthrough level fight.

GGG isn't even great so for me he either needs to sh!t or get off the pot, between the two when faced with a tough or unfavorable Matchups Canelo has taking them head on and GGG has side stepped or made excuses.
So I don't see just based off known history why people think Golovkin is serious about this fight.

If he was Canelo wouldn't be fighting Khan and GGG's next fight would be for the WBC regardless, 155 or 160 I think Canelo outboxes him in a grueling matchup.

 

If he continues to fight bums till he's 40, then it could take longer than that.

 

GGG has the right to enforce the 160 limit, as he should.
