I don't understand why Oscar is so underrated.most people care about undefeated records or long winning streaks.Oscar dared to be great.

And what we forget also,is Oscar was competitive almost everytime against PRIME ATG fighters.Oscar was good against PRIME TOP5 all-time MW Hopkins.

Could have landed a draw against TOP 20ATG Mayweather.

Was in 50-50 fights against two borderline ATG's in Trinidad and Mosley.who were also in their primes!!

And when shot to ****,dared again to be great against TOP 30ATG in Pacquaio.

Also beat 2 TOP 30 ATG's in Chavez and Whitaker.altough past their primes.but for everyother current boxer it would have been labelled as career defining wins.like example for Floyd or Manny.

    Please discuss

Anyone who thinks his fight with mayweather was competitive needs to re watch the fight. DLH was able to corner him only to land punches on mayweathers shoulders. Mayweather was too careful in the later rounds but he was in control of the entire fight

Floyd owned Oscar. He did what he wanted, when he wanted.

Mayweather fought Oscar in second gear. Mayweather held back to make a second fight feasible. When have you ever heard the winner of a fight try to talk up a rematch in the in-ring interview?

You don't even believe your own chit, do you? :patsch

Mayweather retired so he didn't have to hoor the rematch. The fight was to close for his taste imo.

FFS, that was Floyd's biggest fight, why wouldn't he accept the rematch where he would have gotten paid a hell of a lot more than what he did the first time?

Btw, Oscar was like 5 years past the end of his prime.

Fight was too close for a rematch for Floyd? Maidana fight was just as close and he gave an immediate rematch 🤔

Not no but hell no. Too many loses against good fighters. Simply fighting good fighters isn't good enough you have to beat them more than you lose to them. He's a ATG and HOF fighter but no way in hell is he even in the top 3 best maybe not even top 5 fighters of the last 25 years.

ODLH is like 1000 times better than a Prime Maidana

    ODLH = ATG
Maidana = maybe Argentinian Hall of Fame Worthy

The fallacy here is that DLH was actually a great boxer. He wasn't.

DLH got over with height, reach, and speed, his actual boxing wasn't all that great.

As far as I'm concerned DLH isn't even in the conversation as being the best boxer of his generation, so many more were much better than him. Fighters like Marquez, MAB, Morales, Hopkins, Toney, the list really just goes on and on.
