ODLH changing his tune on Donaire/Mares?

    Not like I didn't tell you GBP was blowing smoke about wanting to put Mares against Donaire.

    'Seen' this: "Of course [I would make that fight]. One of the biggest fights that can be made in Los Angeles, that would sell out the Staples Center, is Abner Mares vs. Leo Santa Cruz," De La Hoya said."

    Seems he doesn't believe he needs TR and Donaire for Mares. Now that Donaire is done with Arce and would be available to negotiate his next fight it seems Oscar/Schaefer have forgotten Nonito's name. Like I said, they know Mares has no chance against Donaire and only used his name for hype.

    Seems like he was answering a projected question about how he feels on a Mares/Santa Cruz fight, no?

    Hence the 'of course I would make that fight'

    Anyways, I dont think Oscar has **** to do with what fights get made and which ones dont.

    I think the slime ball Richard and others behind the scenes (matchmakers) have more hands on dealings inside the company then Oscar does. To me Oscar is the face and the spokesperson, but I really doubt he decides what fights happen and dont happen.

    I could be wrong though obviously. Would be interesting to know what Oscar actually does for the company.

    I really don't know but I thought they relied on him for some general direction. It is still Oscar's company isn't it? With his background he has to believe he has insight into the game and I can't see him not putting his fingers into the mix. Not to mention at times it is obvious what he has learned from Arum about promoting.

    Your opinion doesn't make it fact. The fact is Bob Arum is the one who stated he would only make this fight if GBP steps aside. GBP would be fools if they gave up their stake in Mares just to satisfy Arum's greed. You conveniently forgot to state that fact. Mares vs Santa Cruz would be a war.

    From what I have read you're correct. He's more of the face/spokesperson and Richard handles the actual promoting (at least to a far greater degree than ODLH).

    At any rate, will Mares bail from GB to join Top Rank for a shot at Donaire?

    What's wrong with that its the next best fight other then mijares donaire rigo.

    lsc post fight said he's getting ready to fight mares early 2013, I think its bound to happen.

    Nothing wrong with the fight, but from what you are saying it is just further evidence that GBP NEVER intended to make Donaire/Mares and was just blowing smoke up axes who then went out and blamed it on TR.

    Santa Cruz v Mares. That's a fight. I wonder if Mares will resort to low blows once he starts getting tagged in the body. Mares is pretty darn good, but I'm rooting for Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz is toughest SOB in boxing right now.

    Hermit again defending his future boss bob arum and again is bashing oscar. What else is new? Who was the one that says donaire vs mare can happen if mares becomes a free agent? <<<I dont see hermit bash on this one cause its arum.
