Nope. It's the judges fault. Clearly they had the OTHER rounds scored wrong anyways. So, no matter what Oscar did, they were giving Tito rounds that Oscar clearly won. Trinidad did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in that entire fight. Even during the last two rounds, which were the ONLY rounds that Oscar gave away by running.

When you have an undefeated superstar like Oscar De La Hoya... coming up against another undefeated Superstar like Tito Trinidad... both in the prime of their careers.... it's much more than just "another robbery". It means much more than your average fight.

 

Wasn't smart of Oscar to take his foot off the gas in the championship rounds of an extremely high profile fight. What the hell was he thinking?:nut

Guess he placed too much trust in his corner. Anyway going into the the last three round de la Hoya only needed another one to win the contest. In my book he could have lost them and still won clearly. I'm not the only to have that outcome, as can be seen by the occasional "YOUR DE LA HOYA/TRINIDAD SCORECARD".

 

It really doesn't matter. When he had his foot ON the gas, he was still being robbed. Oscar should have been able to mail in those last 2 rounds and still win an EASY UD.

 

They tried to do a job against Floyd in Mayweather-DLH, but Floyd was slick enough to not let the 11th and 12th by. Boxing history would have changed had Floyd been robbed.

 

As for his "dedication outside the ring" I think he kind of lost that following the second Mosley fight, seen by the way he showed up in the Sturm fight. The guy did come into the rest of his fights showing some dedication (Mayorga, Floyd) but he was taking to many breaks inbetween his fights. The guy was effectively a part time boxer after Mosley II.

 

You're just on DLH's nuts man. Its a fight between the best for the unification. He needs to fight not run around the ring. It doesn't matter if he runs 1 rounds and fights the next round. He should have found for the 12 rounds instead of running for 12 rounds and sinking out the place. HIS fault not the judges. Hes lucky they even came up with a draw. Tito was ready to fight.

 

I can't remember what Roger and Garcia were saying to him, but I don't remember anything like "two more rounds then we go home".
