I meant the judges tried to rob Floyd. No way that fight was a SD. Had Floyd lay off in the championship rounds, the robbery might have been successful.

Do you remember the press conference between Floyd and Oscar?

"And Oscar AZZked me, he told me, 'Floyd, don't, don't be running, don't run like you did in that fight'."

"I told him this, I tell him this and respond back to what he said, 'If you was running good enough, you could have, if you, if you, if you knew how to run like I run, you could have ran your way to victory against Trinidad." - $

I think the judges set out to rob de la Hoya in the Trinidad fight but Floyds corner was much more away of that, they were facing a boxer who was going to be aggressive, and knew how to use his size to bully which would sit well with the judges. I think fighters are aware of how running for large periods can affect the cards. Look at Mosley-Mora and Dirrell-Froch. You've got to remember aswell that Oscar was fighting a very dangerous and prime 147 Trinidad. He has the power there. Oscar at 154 wasn't the same sort of hitter he was at 140 and 147. I don't think Floyd had to play it as negative as Oscar did against Trinidad down the stretch because Oscar wasn't as dangerous as Tito was.

tito won so they didnt take anything from him.. boxer leave in the ring they dont run like biatches..

plus DLH didnt need to do too much promotios outside the ring he was a millionare before his first fight...

maybe they're referring to that because dlh was so big from so early that he was living the superstar life, tv shows, interviews and a lot of things pulling him in different directions

    :hat

he admitted in an interview with the Ring that he partied a bit too much and dipped his wick once too often as well.

pretty much spells it out in his book as well, including his problems with gambling.

I think he was just tired (he has said his legs were shaky due to fatigue) an played it safe against a heavy hitter. His corner is said to have told him to stay away, but all I heard was "box, box, box". Alcazar told him after the tenth "make sure they know you won the round".

As it is, I still scored it for DLH despite the late round fade.

I never got the impression that DLH was lazy in the gym other than the Sturm fight. I mean, he was no Hopkins or Mayweather with training habits but I think he trained hard for all his big fights. If he fatigued late, I saw it as just a matter of not being blessed with the greatest stamina, being rather tense, using his legs a lot, or taking hard body shots (Mosley). Tito, Mosley, Floyd, Hops...I think he trained hard for all of those fights. Especially Mosley 1. I remember Arum claiming that Oscar didn't train hard. He looked GREAT physically. He was just in there against a terrific fighter, and also didn't fight a smart tactical fight.

I've no doubt he must have been tired. He was on his toes for pretty much the entire fight. They weren't at the same stages in their careers but I get the impression that Leonard in the Hagler fight was looking very tired towards the end, in that fight he was on his toes quite a bit (more than he usually was at least). Very tiring business indeed.

Like you say again, he had a number of things that effected him when the fights came into the late stages (his tenseness as you point out, he looked tense in practically every fight I've seen him in, from the ring walk to the last second of the fight). But as you say the man looked great physically, I remember Big George F commenting on de la Hoyas huge back at the start of the Trinidad fight. You had a man there who clearly trained very hard.

    Are you serious !!!!???

When the first guy said he ****ed around too much I thought he was being a jokester, and not only that, but GAMBLING?!!?!!

Is this straight goods, seriously, is it?

If it is, could you go on a bit about all three subjects, gambling, women and partying (because he doesn't seem like the partying type, seems shy - and someone told me Jin Mosley said he was, too)? What does he say in the book?

Is this interview with the Ring online, could you give me a link? If it was in print, what did he say?

Women: In his book he briefly mentions a girlfriend he had after his first proper girlfriend. Anyway he ended up cheating on her and she caught him out. He also talks about how he was put into a hotel (really nice one) for a training camp before a fight and while his Dad wasn't around he basically moved his girlfriend into the hotel and kept ****ing her up till the day of fight, when he was under order not to have her around. He also talks about when he first met his wife, he liked her because she wasn't too impressed by him which set her apart because he was used to women who would fall over themselves to be with him.

Gambling: Typical sportstar stories, rolls up to the table with half a million dollar, few hours later its all gone. Had to under go some sort of programme to actually give up gambling his money away at the table.

Partying: Just what you'd expect, big entourages in LA nightclubs, taking his friends to Mexico to get ruined, parties in Vegas. He basically says that sometimes he just decided he fancied to go to Mexico and him and his friends would just go for the week (him paying for it of course).

As Leon says...its all in the book.
