It's all about having options. That's a standard technique in negotiating and a favourite of GBP, they've done it for years. For both the JCC Jr and Golovkin fights last year GBP also discussed Canelo facing BJS or Lemiuex.

By having Canelo-Lemieux as an option they can either get a better deal vs Golovkin or make that fight if they cannot agree terms with K2/Golovkin.

Other promotional companies do the same of course, e.g. when Ward was negotiating with Kovalev the second time and Golovkin was negotiating with Canelo they both floated the idea of a Ward-Golovkin catchweight bout which was never going to happen ...

In this case, Canelo-Lemieux is a far more serious possibility but the principle is the same.

Have you got a sexual fetish for autistic people?

Every other post you write concerns them. Are you "normal"?

You are, of course, correct. But in the meanwhile Golovkin has been screwed out of his December fight for the possibility of fighting His Highness again. I will pmsl if Canelo fights Saunders or Lemmy and gets schooled / KTFO.

There wont be a rematch. It should be next, its not. Theres no hurdles as GGG is a G and just wants to fight. It's gone ! Best outcome for GBP

Of course. Though I'd be shocked if it happens next I admit Lemieux is a possibility for Canelo. But I wanted to stress the 'other option', of waiting till after Lemieux-Saunders to ensure the best negotiating position for a GGG fight, because so many GGG fans are here screaming this has to mean GBP is ducking GGG.

I'm not sure that Oscar would want to rematch Canelo vs GGG after the first fight, if he can get something almost as lucrative for much less risk. Golovkin needs to forget about Canelo because I suspect that if he waits till May he might not get the fight.

Good canelo and golden boy don’t deserve a rematch seeing as there trying to force golovkin not to have a fight in the mean time clearly trying to age him even more, everyone will look at canelo’s resume and go that was a loss in first fight anyway.

Yes, agreed, it all depends on how the negotiations work out.

BTW that's also why Team GGG is busy talking about Murata, likewise it does not mean that they will avoid Canelo or Charlo.

I personally wouldn't mind Canelo and GGG having one interim fight each against the BJS/Lemieux winner or one of the mandos (Charlo, Derevyanchenko, Murata) but there is a very real risk that one of them could lose that fight and spoil the mega-fight rematch, which is why I think Canelo-GGG II happens in May.

Yep, GBP are an absolute joke, I loved Oscar as a fighter but I cannot stand him as a promotor, bribery... ducking GGG for 73643 years.

Because he LOST and got away with a gift draw? Ducking a rematch is not a complex science, moron.
