Canelo is quoted saying he vacated because he wasn't going to pressured by the WBC to fight GGG, which was why he prolonged signing the contract because GGG wanted to negotiate. The deadline was going to be up, and send it to purse bid. Now it's a set % of 55/45 but Canelo feeling he's the draw which he is, opted out entirely. Now everybody has to wait.

No in the comment you quoted originally I said the talk of a flat fee shows that Canelo did not want to split the money. I also said that Canelo wouldn't want to give 45% away anyway and Oscars comments prove that point. If you think that Oscar isn't thinking about the bottom line you are out of your mind its all about the money for him.

Oscar has made it clear what it is about.

GGG is a true fighter. Once he beats the blue **** out of Canelo he will get the big money.

    Hagler was the same.

actually it only traces to Graham v Jackson who fought for the vacant wbc belt. then again to Jackson who fought one more time for the vacant wbc belt with Cardamone. keep dreaming about Hagler and Robinson

:tiburon: Most posts are speculating that GBP will....

    "LOW BALL" GGG,

hoping GGG/K2 will reject the offer.

Then O$car will claim that GGG refused to fight Canelo.

:clapclap:Much more likely that interest in Canelo will continue to dwindle, forcing GBP to beg GGG/K2 for a bout.

Canelo voluntarily ceeded the real championship to GGG. He gave it away. Now, it belongs to GGG.

If the belt was leverage in favor of his getting a bigger share of the split, then he's lost it and GGG has gained it by Canelo's own actions. Expect to see Canelo's popularity decrease and GGG's increase as a result. Whatever the split should have been before Canelo handed over his belt to GGG without a fight, since then the money must definitely have gone more in Golovkin's favor with Canelo getting a smaller share as a result.

GBP- "GGG better take our generous offer of glass beads and some beaver pelts. If he makes us wait, then we're takin' the beaver pelts off the table."

Yeah, but Hagler never got big money. He got the high profile fights against Hearns, Duran, and Leonard in the very last fights of his career and was so pissed off at the way Leonard low balled him and refused a rematch that he retired.

I'm just wondering will Golden Boy feel about fighting GGG if GGG/Brook totally outsells Canelo/Smith? will GGG become a more A-side after that?

Blame Pac for not taking 50/50 back in 2009 when he ran off to fight Cloetty because of testing.:deal: With that said Canelo is the cash cow here not the other way around Canelo will call the shots or there will be no fight. I'm tired of this diva GGG who thinks the rules of A-side B-side don't apply to him.

Because he has paid his dues and is now the cash cow of the sport. He took less money against PBF and Cotto. Why in the hell would he take even money against a guy who did 90K in PPV for his last fight and who's clearly the lesser draw?

I'm thinking you're mixing things around here. The whole a-side/b-side is the diva stuff here, and not having it is the opposite.
Sure the fight won't happen if diva Canelo doesn't get his weight/money/all green m&m's/venue/referee/judges and sh*t, but those are the diva demands. These are supposed to be fighters, for the middleweight belt, at 160, in which Golovkin has all the alphabet belts -1 and Canelo has his promoter's belt.

It may be "diva" demands, but he's earned it. He has the 3rd highest PPV buys for a single event in the history of the sport, so if GGG really wants to fight, he's going to have to accept the flat fee, if that's really the case.

Oh, I can see your stance here, but for Pimp C calling Golovkin the diva in this case is the world upside down in my opinion.
