Pray answer this question PIMP ?
How in the hell is GGG supposed to technically unify the middleweight title when the other trinket holders do not have the stones needed to step up to the plate. I may be wrong, I was wrong once a long time ago
:cat:, but I sincerely believe Gennady Golovkin is head & shoulders above any fighter 168 & below & the other fighters feel the same way They don't think they can beat him :campeon:

I agree, and I hate when fighters push back logical fights. The Hopkins-Jones rematch could have been a much more interesting event had Jones not been stopped in a round for his tune-up. Floyd-Pac would have been a more intriguing encounter in 2010, if not, certainly at some point before suffering KTFO6 to nemesis JMM. Lopez-Gamboa also comes to mind.

And I agree that Canelo is either going to have to pursue mismatches or be put in a position where he may bite off more than he can chew en route to a potential Gennady bout.

So a flat fee definitely could make sense, depending on the offer and what the relevant parties deem "fair". Now I have no idea what the parties involved, K2 and Golden Boy would deem "fair" - and I myself am not really certain whenever it comes to placing a value on two fighters' actual "worth". But someone (KiwiMan, maybe?) made a decent case last night that a figure between $8-12 million would be reasonable, and it sounded like a solid case to me.

Triple G does not have a lot of time so he would best have his is ears open. This is the best opportunity to finish out with next level earnings, as you said, and with the X's & O's covered like they are it's time he made some hard decisions.

Or else yeah he's going to be sorry at business as Canelo

It's a very interesting situation on both sides and I feel both teams are being very hypocritical and contradictory with their remarks.

First with Golovkin, him and his handlers have made mention for years now that all they care about is unifying the MW division. When Canelo was the WBC champ at 160, K2/Sanchez/GGG stated several times they don't care about the actual person that has the belt, rather they just want the belt itself. After Canelo relinquished the title and Golovkin was promoted to full WBC champ status, I thought they wouldn't make mention of Alvarez again. So obviously for them it's not all about unifying the division, and there's nothing wrong with chasing the big money fights. Just don't make it out to be that you're fighting solely for honor and legacy when you've already ascertained the belt you were chasing after.

On Canelo's end, he shouldn't have let Golovkin into the ring after his match with Khan. He had absolutely no reason to do that unless he was serious about fighting Golovkin sooner rather than later. That whole "Mexican's don't F around" diatribe sounded good but watching him relinquish his belt just weeks after really made him look silly. Judging by Canelo's opposition for the past few years, I don't think he's personally afraid of Golovkin, rather his handlers want to milk him for as long as possible. But if you go on one of those ridiculous rants after a fight, the people expect you to be a man of your word and fight the guy in the near future, not vacate the WBC belt. What a terrible turn of events for Canelo and his reputation definitely took a hit. He should've vacated the title right after his fight with Cotto; there was no reason to continue fighting at that weight class (especially at that ridiculous CW of 155 lbs.)

Now with all that being said, Golovkin should just take the flat fee if his intention is to become a PPV draw down the line. That's what you need to do in order to get that big fight and essentially get the PPV baton handed to you.

Mayweather fought everyone at the lighter weights and couldn't get that big money fight until traversing into his 5th weight class to fight Oscar. Oscar made over double the amount that FLoyd did in that fight, picked the glove sizes and the weight class, a division that Floyd had never fought in before. those were the concessions that Floyd had to make in order to secure the fight and looked what happened to his career afterward. He was in the driver seat in every negotiation from that point forward.

GGG/K2 have to sacrifice a bit in order to get those big name fights they crave. I'm still not 100% certain beating Alvarez will make Gennady a PPV star, but if him and his team believe that to be the case, than concede whatever you have to in order to get the fight made.

some good points. but, what many are seeing, including myself, is that ggg's popularity is on an upward trajectory, while canelos is at best, stagnant. their next three individual fights could completely reverse the positions of a-side and b-side, so setting a value on what each one brings to a fight at least a year away, is pointless and a waste of time for ggg to consider.

Regardless of all the business behind it, the fact about this fight remains. Canelo's strengths=ggg's weaknesses and ggg's style is tailor made for a grown into 160 Canelo. Also, golovkin is nowhere near as fast as cinnamon.

GG's popularity won't grow until he gets a real good, respected opponent in front of him. This fight won't do that. He has everything to lose. If he wins, he was supposed to, if he loses, people like me will **** on you and the rest of the GG dick riding brigade. I **** on you anyway so you won't feel the difference. "Upward trajectory", lmfao.

Yes they were already. Tito was already touted as one of the best 3 PR fighter of all time and Oscar had also already cemented his legacy.

There is absolutely no comparison and you sound like YDKWTFYTA.
