Agreed, makes no sense. Two entirely different and unrelated markets.

Golovkin shaming Canelo for dighting a WW and then almost immediately signing to fight a WW himself makes zero sense.
Golovkin fighting Brook at MW with no CW makes zero sense.
Golovkin refusing to Canelo at 155, or Ward at 168 after he declared he would fight anyone at 154,160,168 makes zero sense.
Golovkin crying about no one wanting to fight him even after he has been called out by top fighters in Lara, and Trout makes zero sense.
Golovkin refusing to compromise anything in order to build a legacy worth leaving behind makes zero sense.

    WOW....

GBP has lost all credibility after Canelo surrendered the belt.

O$car & Canelo continue to "RUN THEIR MOUTH'S" making up "EXCUSES" for their actions.

Now O$car is attempting to take control of an upcoming fight... that may never happen.

IMO GGG will dictate the terms, venue, and conditions, if GGG/K2 ever agree to a match.

After all... O$car sez Canelo is not big enough to fight as a middleweight.

But the concept remains the same.
The fight is massive, the demand is massive, so the earnings will be massive and not in any way comparable to previous paydays in fights. Look at Froch's payday due to demand for a rematch, while he never got close to that before.

The closest previous example I can think of is Delahoya-Hopkins, because Oscar was the cash cow but Hopkins was the middleweight champion who wasn't a huge draw.

The guaranteed purse split for that fight was $30mil for ODH and $10 for Bernard, or 75% to 25%. No idea if there was PPV upside attached to either or both guys deal.

I feel if GGG is offered what amounts to 25% of the pot it is probably in his best interest in the long run to take it.

Floyd already admitted he delayed the fight on purpose to maximize profits

Isal doesn't get or see news unless there's DLH, GBP, or Alvarez in the headline. That idiot thinks his excuse list is something special....until Floid pretty much admitted he waited.

I respectfully disagree, Robney. I don't think the concept is as similar as you suggest.

Pac and Floyd were both making huge money without facing one another. They only finally decided to end the scam so they could cash out, and it worked wonders for them. But even without each other, these guys were making enormous paydays. The same cannot be said for Canelo, and especially not for Golovkin.

Floyd and Pac were both proven elite PPV attractions. Canelo isn't on their level, and Gennady's lone PPV effort was weak by the standards usually held in high esteem.

Floyd offering Pac a flat fee would have made no sense for Pac to accept. But it would make sense, I think, for Gennady to take whatever he can get because Canelo's his only chance for a significant payday in the foreseeable future.

Floyd is full of shet, we all know that.

Those Pacquiao excuses can't be denied Paul.

So you take Floyd's word, and completely ignore all those excuses made by Pacquiao or members of his team?

You don't know what you're talking about.

Brook v GGG is a Sky Sports Blockbuster PPV extravaganza. It ain't low budget in any way. Promotion and media events are running round the clock here. Every big Sky PPV is always 16 pound 50.

Show me one person who doesn't consider Golovkin to be the MW champion?

With that said, he's a pretty faulkin lousy champ when you consider how many good fights he's passed on or fugged up.

GGG take the cash and beat this joker worse than Ali beat Mama Blizzy with that fist action behind Macy's :asz::69:

As long as the fight happens at 160 and GGG receives a fair flat fee I give a FK:banana:
