Again...like Dangerousity said...these numbers werent hidden or gone unrecognized. People saw WTF he was doing with the way he lost the weight durign the 24/7 series...and yet people STILL said DLH was going to murder Pac. **** even I thought so. But Pac just totally beat Oscar's ass...Oscar had no excuse after the fight either. I don't think DLH is someone who is humble enough NOT to make excuses. His whiny ass is always complaining about something. But after the fight he said "he was just a better fighter. He's the pound for pound best and he fought a great fight" They asked him the weight question after the defeat, and that was his answer...Manny was simply just better. I'm agreeing with the OP in saying that there was no difference in the DLH that was in there with Floyd and the one that was in there with Manny. In terms of fighting...
lol. I love how you people are making out las though Im saying all this because I love Manny. This could be Margo who I couldnt care for and if thats the way I see it, thats the way I see it. Margo lost to Mosley & lost to Cotto..that margo fought exactly the same except one probably had plasters in his wraps. Just the way I see it, I just happened to pick a topic where 90% disagree with me so Ive come to educate them.
:happy You should all take note of this man's intelligence in boxing analysis, you could all learn something.
i dont think its fair on manny that we are discrediting one of his best victories because of someonelses mistake. i think pac would beat a healthy delahoya on that night. pacs style is just to bad for oscar. southpaw fast hands and quick feet. start giving credit. he was overwelming underdog and now people frown on that victory. that is not right at all. it was supposed to be his defining moment and people wont even give him that.
Varg, I'm still waiting for you and Dangerousity to tell me your arguments with Roach? Roach has better knowledge than any of us regarding the whole situation and says something went wrong with DLH so please watch the video and give me your arguments countering.
That video discredits everything that they are saying do not expect them to explain why Roach is in agreement with us.
The part where he confirms what I just said? DLH same as what he saw in the PBF fight, he doesnt know how to cut the ring off, he just follows people, he keep following you and he'll walk into your left hand all night long. Also I like how you guys are taking Roach words as bible regarding this issue. Then you must also take his words in saying Pac will beat Hatton! lol. Regarding the weight though, I agree with Roach. The weight killed Oscar, but those affects his legs and like Roach said, his legs should be good for atleast 3-4 rounds. Those first 3-4 rounds, Pac still outclassed him so I think if DLH wasnt weight drained, the TKO may have come much later, or may not have come at all, he would have still been outclassed. The gameplan won the fight and the weight wouldnt have changed the gameplan.
Anybody disputing this is deluded or in denial. Oscar WASNT the bigger man that night; He's Naturally the bigger man but shrunk himself to smaller and lighter than Pac.He then became the weaker man. Im naturally around 230 pounds. If i have a mate whos 200 and i decide to excessively diet and train down to 195,during this time im not the bigger man,he is.Im just the weaker man.Simple.
Freddie Roach gets far too much credit for the Pac win by the way. Pac would have beaten the corpse of Delahoya with Mr Bean training him.
For the record I had Pac as the winner (Wasn't posting on here at the time). But thats not the argument here. The argument has been from yourself that DLH was the same guy who fought PBF. Roach says something was wrong with DLH, Lots of people are quoted in saying that, boxers, trainers and critics alike, I could link quotes by everyone from Mosley to Bert Sugar all saying something was wrong with DLH. I'll chuck in Oscar's own conditioning coach saying how wrong the sparring went: http://www.***********.com/?m=show&id=17810 I'm going to stop now because if the evidence I've provided doesn't convince you guys that the Oscar who fought Pac isn't the Oscar who fought PBF I don't know what will. Again, for the record I think Manny would have still beat DLH, just not the uncompetitive way he did.
if you look there is a history of Roach match making Manny perfectly with fighters Roach felt were there for the taking. Roach even admitted they took the Morales fight becuase they felt Erik was all done. They took the De La Hoya fight becuase he felt Oscar couldnt pull the trigger, which would explain why Oscar didnt punch
BS, Pac jumped up from 122 to fight a prime MAB, easy match making? He took on JMM after that who was very avoided. The rematch went wrong and one of the biggest names in that division was Morales, so they took the fight. He took DLH because although he was at advantage with age, he still said he was sleepless fo rnights worrying because obviously DLH held some distinct advantages himself. He says DLH couldnt pull the trigger, he also says he spotted that from the PBF fight, which again furthers my argument. Even in that video he mentioned that DLH did the same thing with manny that night as he was doing with PBF, plodding and following them forwards while taking str8s.
All those same "experts" predicted a DLH win. Im not looking at numbers or opinions, this thread is about what we are seeing on film. The Oscar we are seeing on footage against Manny apart from being lighter is not fighting any differently than he did against PBF. Its same old Oscar, different Money err Manny. I already said the wieght affected Oscar, but it shouldnt have affected him in the way that he gets outclassed from round 1. It probably does explain the early KO though, I predicted a KO 9-12 and even put money on that, realistically I expected it to come 11th. It came earlier because of the weight issue.
