the wieght could have been a factor, but as someone else stated, dlh was the bigger man in both fights. it was mostly the difference in styles. the worst type of fighter for an old fighter who is past it is to go up against a fast agressive fighter like pacquiao. pac-man exploited his speed advantage on dlh more then mayweather did by constly moving and constanly punching. he flat out overwhelmed dlh. while mayweather didnt throw as much, or move as much. floyd was looking to counter punch while pac just wanted to initiate the exchanges. purely a difference in styles. dlh just matched up better with mayweather then with pac. but floyd did hold back a bit to. his style more defensive and safe then pac. if he wanted to, he could have inflicted more damage on dlh had he taken more chances. but nevertheless, he was still too skilled for dlh.
Exactly. Everyone knew exactly what stage of his career DLH was at, and what weight they were fighting at. How is it that an issue like the weight is a non-factor before the fight, and then the exact same issue suddenly "becomes" a factor after the fight is over? :huh Nothing changed between the time before the bell rang and the time after it rang.
ODH is not weight drained at the fight. I think he already adjusted at that weight based on the little weight he gained after the weigh-in. He is capable of knocking out pac cold but He is just old fighting a young faster opponent in pac.
Against PBF DLH was throwing around 60 punches per round, agains PACquiao he was throwing around 5 punches per round, does that answer your question???
Mate, if you can't see the relevance of 15 pounds in weight, you've got a lot to learn. Dropping one weight class doesn't sound bad, but at that point of a fighter's career (see Roy Jones), it can be disastrous. Coupled with the terrible method of making weight (i.e. making weight weeks before the fight, leaving NO room for water weight to be added on fight night - which is why he came in still within the 147 limit), and you have a recipe for getting your ass kicked. Of course, Pacquiao put on a clinic, and his elusiveness and speed exploited Oscar's inability to pull the trigger and land any serious blows. The Oscar of the Floyd fight was far better, but nobody knows what the result would have been.
Bazooka he's the difference between a true boxing fan and a nuthugger! He only favors his own fighters!:good Real fans know the truth...Oscar was a skeleton in that fight...I TAKE NOTHING AWAY FROM PAC HE DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB AGAINST OSCAR!! I JUSS FEEL IF THE FIGHT WAS AT 154 OSCAR WOULDA BEEN BETTER AT THAT WEIGHT!!:good
There are so many posters here putting the weight drain issue too much. Can you guys tell us what is the weight of Oscar 2 weeks before the fight? Do you expect Oscar to balloon to 160lbs in fight night if you know 2 weeks before what his training weight is?
