Did Oscar make this prediction while he was sober? Or did he do it while he had those fish nets on and white powder residue above his lip?

I, for one, hope the PPV tanks and tanks miserably (as I do with all PPVs) - but I doubt this one will tank, even with it's relatively close proximity to Christmas.

PPV is becoming an outdated pricing model. It's been in decline since the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight, which was basically the last fight many people were willing to pay for.

The boxing industry need to start expanding to a bigger audience. Take advantage YouTube and aim for a bigger distribution and sell it at a cheaper price.

I highly doubt it'll reach 1.5 million. 1 million is even a bit of a dream.

Tough sell to hit that target, as I think there's still some real buyer's fatigue from Mayweather-Pac.

    I've got a 750k estimate on it.

It will do exactly 6-8x more buys than the B-level Golovkin-Lemiuiex fight did, or approx. 600-800K buys.

That sounds about right. I haven't seen any advertising for this fight in any but the regular boxing places. You need fighters on talk shows and running advertisements on NBC, CBS, ABC, and Fox to get the numbers over a million. I don't know why promoters aren't using social media more effectively too. You could probably get a couple thousand more buys with a simple facebook and twitter campaign.

Great point. And yet, you've still got people who don't understand why GGG would hold out for a fight for the winner.

Sounds about right, the fans are upset after 2 duds: May-Pac and May-Berto, this is a bad year for PPV fights.
