Exellent point........Marquez did land some punches.....and some exellent straight rights that landed clean on Mayweather.....

DLH did'nt land jack vs Pacquiao, and he's alot easier to hit than the defensive Mayweather.


Ask yourself this, who's easier to hit???
Of course its Pacquiao, and DLH could'nt even time to land a simple jab with the reach he had on him, which goes to show you the type of pathetic condition he found himself in.


If you've followed the sport enough, you'd know that if you have a reach advantage and have good timing skills, even if you're significantly slower, if you have that sizeable reach advantage (which DLH did over Pacquiao) he should have been able to establish some semblence of it.......yet, DLH was in such dire straights with his conditioning, he neither had the equilibrium or timing to even come close to landing a simple jab.

 

It wasn't DLH's conditioning which prevented him from landing on Pacman, it was Pacman's speed. Stop making it seem like DLH came in the ring half dead with one arm. He came in with the intent to hurt Pacman and threw shots with bad intentions. He was just so many levels slower than Pacman in the foot speed, hand speed and reflexes department that he had no chance. And the couple that did land, he didn't hurt Pacman.

 

DLH was a Zombie in that ring. Slowest anybody has ever seen him, heavy legs dragging across the ring, no pop in his punches, no defense, decreasing stamina, and unable to pull the trigger when he had to.

DLH was half dead that night. If the version that fought Forbes had shown up he would be been a bit more competitive.

 

I was'nt talking about conditioning when it refers to stamina, as I was talking more about his overall condition as an old fighter stepping into the ring at a weight he had'nt been in, in well over a decade......

DLH stepped into the ring weighing 147 lbs vs Pacquiao......
To put it into better perspective for you, DLH as a Junior welterweight stepped into the ring weighing more than 147 lbs.......

147 lbs is a weight that DLH had'nt likely stepped into the ring weighing since his days as a lightweight......we're talking about the Jesse "James" Leija fight 13 years earlier at 135 lbs.....and its quite possible, I'd say even probable that DLH weighed more than 147 lbs in the ring vs Leija!

Any legit contender beats Oscar that night. I cant believe people are trying to pump up manny like if his gameplan beat Oscar. Oscar was so badly faded only a blind man would have missed that. Marquez would have beat up oscar that night Put this probably goes the distance. Hatton would have beat Oscar that night too. But a prime Oscar would have stopped Marquez in 6 or 7.

 

You know, for Forbes, DLH was 150 and some ounces, probably closer to 151 lbs than 150 lbs, but they announced his weight ast150 lbs.

......so for Forbes, DLH was less than 4 lbs from his established weight of 154 lbs.....
.....how stupid can an old fighter like DLH be when he officially weigh's 145 lbs, 9 lbs lighter than his comfortable weight of 154 lbs.....

These facts are just undisputable and huge difference makers.

Old slow blown-up Marquez grinds out a decision over older slower drained Oscar.

 

Oscar looked like **** against Steve Forbes just prior to that Pac fight. He was past it and going down to 147 really was the icing on the cake.

JMM didnt really look bad at 144, he would likely beat a lot of guys like Hatton and Paulie at 140. Its just that style wise he had no chance of beating Mayweather. He got a few shots in and did well.

I think he has a decent chance of beating that DLH, DLH looked bad against Forbes.

Id say probably earlier than that. JMM does get dropped and if we are talking about the DLH who whooped Gatti's ass all over the ring and having a similiar size advantage over JMM (which he would even if they were fighting at 140) I could see young DLH stopping JMM in the first few rounds. JMM was dropped by Pac but DLH certainly hit harder and would stop him.

 

Again, i'm not saying that DLH didn't have issues with his body. Him weighing 147 on fight night saids a lot. But Pacman had something to do with making DLH look a lot slower than he would've against almost any other fighter.

Yeah, i hear what you're saying. I bet $1,800 on this fu*ken fight and i bet it on DLH. When i heard that DLH weighed in at 145, i wasn't that worried. But when i heard that he was 147 on fight night, i was very, very worried. Like most people, i expected him to be about 10-12 lbs bigger than Pacman. That wasn't the case.

But still, you have to give credit to Pacman for beating the much taller and longer man. His performance was amazing.

 

DLH had trouble because of Pacs style of darting in and out of range. JMM does not fight the same, he always looks to counterpunch, where as DLH can do the same, but we've seen how JMM was not able to carry his power at WW. Dont be fooled by how easy PAC beat DLH, it was more of a fighting style thing. JMM vs DLH will be much closer than what you think. DLH can still beat any fighter that stands in front of him, opposed to someone who's fast and fights the way PAC does.
