I'm surprised nobody is calling for this match-up. It seems like a natural. Unless, De La Hoya is in retirement mode. ODLH may just have the punching power AND the chin to gain an edge. What's up with this fight?

screw that match why would anyone want to see it? why can't dlh retire and stop picking on naturally smaller fighters i mean the guy calls out hatton then calls out pacquiao? give me a flippin break, Cotto will show dlh what a real body shot feels like and make him gassed by the end of the 1st round. This fight is worthless.. Cotto vs Mayweather RIGHT NOW

if dlh can make 147, why not. this is a far better match-up than the dlh-pac match some are fantasizing about

I've said for awhile that I expect this fight to take place in May 08', although I'd much rather see Cotto fight the winner of Mayweather-Hatton.

This fight HAS to take place. Unless ODLH is retired. It may be the biggest money fight out there now.

It can't happen Mili has put the Kibosh on Oscar Fighting any Puerto Rican Fighters. Maybe if she sees the money possiblity that will change.

Why does this fight have to take place??? oscar isnt even at welter and lost his last fight what gives him any right to fight cotto?? im a fan of oscar but he dosent deserve a shot at cotto for starters.

This fight would be pointless. De La Hoya has done nothing to earn a shot and he's not active enought to compete with Cotto, who's in his prime. Cotto will earn some money but nothing else from this fight.

I want to see this fight. Both guys are around the same size, there isn't a huge difference in weight.

It would be a good fight because DLH doesn't have the legs to move around the ring anymore so he would be fighting toe to toe most of the fight. With that great left hook, accuracy, and skill, he has as much of a chance as Mosley did.

Hello, I am eliqueiros, new to ESB. Love the mag and read it everyday. First, would like to say Oscar has gone down to 147 for last two fights (his natural weight class). And Oscar has proven that he does not have to work his way back into contention because he and Trinidad made the welterweight what it is today throughout the nineties and early 2000's. Next, if Oscar can get Milli's blessing then this fight should take place. Besides Hopkins Sugar is the only one to have beaten oscar toe to toe. Cotto is in the big league now after beating Shane and PBF will stay clear away from him. Cotto and DLH will be an explosive match-up and perhaps Cotto's first ko to a superior puncher. The difference between DLH and Mosley is that DLH comes in from the start to ko you. Cotto, great as he is, is the type of fighter DLH looks best against. As far as Mosley, his fame, great as it was, rested on his two defeats of DLH. It seems he only trained his life for DLH and came up short later. DLH has mosley's chin and versatility, a left hook only equalled by Trinidad. Do not think cuz Mosley beat him others can. Mosley was beaten twice by Whitaker who was ko'd twice by mayorga!

I dont think DLH has the stamina anymore to beat the elites.
