Ditto for me. Well said. Although, Williams would provide a stern stylistic test for Floyd Mayweather, I do think there is a possibility that Floyd could out fight Williams.

Don't understand what you are saying here:huh

The only way you can think it will be a low risk fight for Cotto is if you think Cotto will beat floyd without a doubt..

Cotto is a top contender and beltholder at 147. At 140, he defeated top 10 Ring ranked contenders Lovermore Ndou and Demarcus Corley. At 147, he's defeated top 10 Ring ranked contenders Oktay Urkal, Zab Judah, Carlos Quintana (he was at the bottom of the top 10 then dropped off after he lost to Cotto), and top 3 Ring-ranked contender Shane Mosley.

Cotto is far from some green prospect, he's a 30 fight, 7 year pro veteran with an extensive amateur background. He deserves a shot and it should take place.

However, I expect Arum to keep badmouthing Mayweather and acting like he's interesting in putting Cotto in there with Floyd, while both he and Floyd don't have much interest in working together until there is even more money to be made.

Let me get this straight. Paul Williams is a master boxer?

Not easy in the sense that it won't be physical...but like Hatton...Cotto offers a very similar style that isn't hard for a fighter like floyd to analyze and then begin to take apart. It will be a physical fight but it will be fairly easy for Floyd to win on points or in the same fashion he was able to take Hatton out. It will be an exciting fight but the outcome is pretty easy to predict.

Not if he can make even more money with another fight.
I hope he goes for the money. That's the only thing that matters at the end of the day

LOL...Paul isn't a pitty pat puncher dude. Paul has a great KO Percentage. Just b/c he couldn't dent Margs armour doesn't mean he isn't a strong puncher....he's just not a concussive kind of puncher.

Paul isn't a stationary target that is just a pressure fighter...he uses his feet...uses his angles and throws a **** load of punches. Since Floyd is a lot shorter than Paul...Floyd will have to try and fight on the inside and pot shot a lot less b/c of the long reach of Paul.

Floyd can win on the inside but it will be hard to get off his own offense b/c he will be trying to avoid 100+ Punches per round with Paul. This fight is the only fight that would be a truly tough fight for Floyd. DLH gave Floyd a really tough fight "TACTIACLLY" Speaking. Paul offers a physically demanding and mentally demanding fight b/c Paul will be frustrating Floyd. I still see Floyd winning a Decision but I can see Paul winning as well and wouldn't be surprised if Paul did come away with a "W". You just can't count Floyd out.

Paul won't get tired from missing...he'll miss alot of his head punches but Paul hits you EVERYWHERE! That will not be a factor in this fight for either man. No one has to AMP Paul up...he has proven that he is a serious player off of just one victory....and that was against Marg! beating Marg isn't easy for anyone and Paul was the first man to do it in 8 years. His hype is well deserved.

Actually Zab is a touch faster than floyd but Floyd is a defesive wizard like a young James toney. I thought Cotto would have a good chance against floyd prior to watching the Hatton vs Floyd fight, but seeing that Hatton couldn't work the body and Shane was able to take that important part of Cotto's attack away from him means Floyd will have an easier time...IF Hatton and Cotto can't work the body...that's a MAJOR portion of what makes them so successful, you take that away from them it's like taking the wind from the sails of a sail boat. This fight plays out similar to what just took place last week.

Hell no! But Paul is a very solid boxer all the way around without a doubt. He's can't be a master boxer b/c his style won't allow that to happen. In order for a fighter to be a master boxer you have to have a style that will allow you to showcase master skills. Paul is WAAAAAY too busy in the ring to show how his counter punching is on point or to show his accuracy when placing his shots. He overwhlems his opponents and wears them down. His style would leave him very open if it weren't for the fact that he is also a MOVER!! He moves very well both head, legs and upper body. He is alwasy pivoting his back for showing angels as well. That's why it's hard to land on Paul even though he is open when he is shooting off one of his 5,6,7 punch combinations. Floyd will be able to land but will it be enough given the highout put of punches he'll be looking to avoid.

No fight is low risk. These guys put their lives on the line every time they step in the ring.

I agree that Williams wouldn't get tired from throwing the high number of punches, but I think he would wear down from getting touched to the body with the authority that MAyweather goes there.
I;m not sure of the outcome of the fight though.

Cotto is a hard puncher, a good boxer with an awesome chin.

He has KO power at welterweight.

Those are some of the attributes Hatton didn't have, or lost by fighting at 147.

Cotto has a better chance than anyone else out there IMHO.

There are lower risk fights that some fighters feel more comfortable taking.

I think the majority of Paul´s punches hit air. Normally maybe 60% of them hits air, but I think against floyd he´ll hit 90% air.

He has long arms, and as a poster earlier pointed out the distance to counter is a bit longer for floyd. It will not as easy as the hatton fight, that´s for sure. But even with the ´´handicap´´ floyd has in this fight I still see him winning down the stretch, maybe 8 rounds to 4.

By the way, Corrales (may he rest in peace) also was a lot taller then floyd right??? Did we all over a sudden forgot about that. Yes Corrales came storming in without throwing punches but still.
