One thing I took away from that piece is that Mosley is NOT afraid of Mayweather at all. The way I see it, Shane sees himself as a REAL fighter, a guy who has fought EVERYONE, the whos who of boxing, and is a true old school veteran. He sees Floyd as a pampered kid who has been handled wisely and cautiously, who has to rely on talk to sell himself because his style is so boring. Man to man, in the ring, Shane sees himself as the real fighter, does not see anything from Floyd that he has to be afraid of. Shane says to himself, he's fast, but so am I, he has skills, but so do I, he's not that strong, but I am. Plus, Shane watched Floyd against a close to shot Oscar in what was actually an even fight, and Shane saw how Floyd fights cautious and tight against a guy of that caliber, so Shane knows that at the very least, he's in the fight. Mentally, I think Mosley is very much up for this fight.

 

Man...when it boils to steam all them dudes fight for money. If Shane wasn't fighting for money he would have fought Paul Williams...point blank period.

You can both make tons of money and better your legacy.Which is what Shane is going for.Cotto,Margo,Floyd...clearly he isnt just fighting for money otherwise he could have picked on some easier scalps.

 

Shane has always fought top competition, but the fact of the matter is that he is now down playing the fact that he wants only money fights...he was very dissappointed about fighting Berto for this fact alone.

At this point in their careers, guys like Mosley and Mayweather should be going after the biggest paydays. If they go after the money, the legacy will follow. I remeber around the Hatton/Pacquiao fight, both Berto and Williams were trying to fight Mosley. Mosley turned down both fights. He stated that he already had taken on those type of fights and that at this point of his career, he only wanted big money fights. Right now, the fights that offer the most money will improve their legacies the most.

 

How is Oscar losing 9 rounds a close fight? They actually have an incentive to not **** with the scorecards this time since Mayweather beating down emmanuel is the fight everyone wants to see.
