Ok first off I suggest everyone go back and watch the fight from last night, initially last night I thought damn Seth is not as good as I thought, which still could prove to be the case..

But after watching the fight again today I saw Seth take atleast 12-15 very flush bombs and he didn't appear as hurt to me as he had live. Many on here are saying Spoon let him off the hook but he didn't Seth just took all he had and sustained..

By round two Seth was well in control of the fight, he threw 81 punches and began punishing the body, which he does extremely well. Neuman stepping in saved Spoon from being smashed to the canvas which who knows had Mitchell been able to drop him for the count maybe he would be getting more love..

I am not saying he could beat either Klit, but this is the usual reactionary positing after a fighter doesn't look invincible.. Lets say he does have a suspect chin, many like Michael Moorer for example have rose to pretty great heights with suspect beards.. I don't however think Seth does, I think Seth is GREEN I know he is, hes still learning his craft..

He sort of reminds me of Clifford Etienne on the way up, high punch volume, goes to the body and being touted by HBO.. The difference is I think Etienne lost his desire before he hit his ceiling.. I think Seth is going to work at this hard and I hope surprises most of you..

Its hard to please the people on this forum, they always find something to complain about. People should be awed at the body work Mitchell layed, and his tremendous Straight Right, I call it the "Mayhammer".

As bad as he looked in round 1 he looked great in 2 and 3 and he is dangerous

by the end of round 1 he was hitting Spoon with good shots

he is dangerous when hurt and has a body attack

he has a solid jab and a very good left hook which is something many guys never do well

I have said many times in the past that i feel seth mitchell is a ko waiting to happen! And i still feel that way after yesterdays fight!
A wladimir klitschko fight for mitchell would be a bad mistake!
That right hand of wladimir would kill mitchell! Wladimir wouldnt miss his right hand just once! I give credit to mitchell to come back and show his will to come back and stop witherspoon though! But he is way way to slow to cause any problems to wladimir or a guy who can box! You can run circles around Mitchell!

Im still on board, but he definitely has flaws to correct. Havent rewatched the fight yet so I don't have your hindsight, but seeing how easily Chazz stunned him so early has got to put a question mark up as to whether they should match him with some of the iron chinned and iron fisted fighters like Arreola, Chisora, Helenius.

I'd like to see him matched vs some of the taller lesser skilled boxers like Fury. Guys he can blast around without the risk of being nailed coming in.:think

Many think mitchell is the best US heavyweight !
I disagree bigtime! Arreola beats mitchell down in my book! Im not feeling this way because of yesterdays fight! Mitchell might look in great shape! better than arreola for sure but i think even arreola is underrated!
Arreola is not the most athletic guy but i think he beats mitchell in some aspects of that even though he doesnt look that way

Nice post Bonecrusher, writing off Mitchell because he got rocked from a flush shot is silly. At least he stayed on his feet for the follow-up assault. Mitchell has wrecking-ball raw power, functional physical strength, warrior heart, a debilitating body attack, & good combination punching. :good

To be fair, Chazz put in a very good performance by his standards. He came to fight.

I agree that upon looking at the fight a second time Seth Mitchell didn't look like he was hurt to bad. What was bad was how he reacted when he was hit. It wasn't that he was hurt, but more so he wasn't used to being hit and reacted poorly, which allowed Chazz to land more bombs on him.

Up to this point he has not taken much for punishment and I think it is an experience thing. He need to get in there with fighters that will land some bombs in return so he can get used to that and not panic. If he doesn't get past this reaction to getting bombed he will lose against heavy handed foes like the K bros or Arreola.

I rewatched it too and noticed the same thing. However, his legs were shaky and that was a bad sign.

Very Good point, what looked bad was that he didn't react well, but like is being said this was the first time he had been stunned (to my knowledge anyway) I am anxious to see how he will react in a similar situation down the road..
