Of the last 40 years, does anyone besides LL have a chance to beat Vitaly?

The point is that if Vitali was as great and as powerful as you say he is Bryd should'nt of even lasted 6 rounds, its ridiculous.

Michael Spinks who is one of greatest lightheavyweights of all time and who at the time was widely regarded as the greatest lightheavyweight in history, did'nt even last a round with Mike Tyson (85 seconds) :deal,
and you critizes Mike Tyson, but don't critize Vitali for getting Stopped let me repeat Stopped by a guy who is a natural lightheavy who is'nt even in the top 50 greatest lightheavyweights

Tyson has heart believe that!! He could have tanked it much earlier when buster was beating him up,same with Holyfield same with Lennox. WHen he lost he never quit like (vitali) did, when the other guy was better he took an ass kicking like a man. Vitali hurt his shoulder and didnt want to fight no more, and it was against a light punching heavy not some guy that was gonna seriously hurt him.
GUYS WHOD BEAT VITALI IN THE PAST 40YEARS
    1.Ali
    2.Foreman
    3. Holmes
    4.Tyson
    5.Holyfield
    6.Lewis
    7.Bowe -Maybe

Jesus Christ was really the guy who won the fight when you thought it was Chris Byrd over Vitali. Just find the interview and listen to Chris explain it all - how is homeboy Jesus TAXED Vitali and made him quit.

Joe Frazier would of beaten Vitali easily in their primes, no question about it.

Wrong. That ****ing idiot HAS bragged about his victory. He said recently, I think before his last comeback LHW loss, to the announcers around a table, "Don't forget, I BEAT Vitali Klitzscho, people mention his injury, but....*shrugs shoulders*" - after this there were a couple seconds of silence as the announcers stared at him as if he were a bigger ****ing douche moron than Mike Tyson.

An overweight and old Foreman V2 would finish Vitali, **** me, even Cooney would have a decent shot :deal. Hell, if Herbie Hide hadn't been KTFO and humiliated he would have beaten the Ukranian also...the list is endless

I disagree that there is any certainty that these fighters would have beaten Vitali. You can always point out to Byrd and Lewis and the fact that Vitali didn't beat an ATG. You can also easily point out that Ali was lucky gainst Cooper, struggled against Doug Jones, both small cruiserweights who would never land a punch on Vitali. Foreman would give up 5 inches and 20 pounds against someone who is also more accurate and has better reflexes. Foreman can always win with his power, but it seems unlikely he would land much on Vitali. Tyson was spectacular, but that doesn't mean he beats a 6'8 fighter with Vitali's chin, mentality and awkward style. Holyfield lost to Moorer and had his hands full with little Bobby Chyz.

I am not saying Vitali beats everyone in history. Over the course of his career, he would have lesser nights, just as Lewis did when he lost to McCall and Rahman. His injuries would have gotten to him at some point in a fight and then a mediocre opponent could beat him, just like the mediocre Rahman knocked out an unprepared Lewis. I will say that on his best night, nobody in history would fnd it easy to beat Vitali.

MAYBE a prime foreman , but i go with vitali.
chicken bowe vs. vitali could be interesting , but i go with vitali.
lewis had the best chance. maybe mccline (prime) or grant (prime) had a (puncher's) chance just b/c they could reach vitali. i still go with vitali , just mentioning them. mccline had some nice preformance in 2001-2002.
4 impressing wins : Al Cole , Whitaker , Grant and briggs.
these were not midgets. i think i'd rank him at top 8 hw at 2002.
he did deserve his shot at wlad and in fact it was a must. a fight that really must have happened , and also deserved his later shots.

Frazier is much easier to hit than Vitali. His style depended on his ability to take one to land one. Vitali with his height and reflexes would have been extremely hard to hit for Frazier at 5'10. Vitali's jab cannot be slipped the way a smaller fighter usually slips the jab because it comes like a half - uppercut from the waist. Even if Frazier would somehow magically land as many punches as Vitali, he would lose due to the power - chin ratios of both fighters. Nobody ever outlanded Vitali in a fight, not even Lennox Lewis. How would Frazier do that, being the smallest opponent of Vitali's career?

I think any guy with a good jab, decent power and consistent work-rate can beat him.

Which I think covers quite a lot of people over the last few decades.

Anyone with any other attribute(s), like awkward punch angles, great defence, astonishing power, brilliant foot/hand speed, will fare even better.

Which again adds more people into the mix.

As you can see, I think quite a lot of people are capable of winning. Maybe not beating him, but lots of people would walk out with a win ..
