its insane we are living in a time were people are ducking the champ, they used to kill for that shot at the title.

 

Can't blame Fury or Helenius, both have said they need a few more fights.
No excuse for Povetkin and Arreola though.

 

I have heard in a few cases wlad has offered them no more or just not enough more than they would get money wise if they fought some other guy in and around the top 10. Fighters don't want to shorten their careers by getting brutalized by wlad without a big reward.

But yeah i do agree with you, times have changed!

what you dont understand is they didnt even get to the cash offer. It was NO to a fight thus no more talks continued... after a guy says "Im interested" then the talks continue about money and everything else.....

They know they cannot beat Wlad at this point. Povetkin will eventually have to fight Wlad so he is milking his "regular" WBA title for now. Arreola is lining up shot at WBC title while waiting for Vitali to retire so he cannot afford a loss.

I think the least amount of money any fighter gets for fighting Wlad is 1 mil. Now let's keep in mind, just for the sake of perspective, that TONY TOMPSON and EDDIE CHAMBERS WILL BE GETTING $20 000 for their fight against each other.

I think if wlad only fought once a year and said only the best guy out there gets a shot and a payday the others in the top 10 would be more willing and compete with each other but since he and viatli botha re fighting 2/3 times per year combined with the lack of debt its basically waiting on your turn for a payday.
