    Both SSR and ward have the same issue. Majority of fans me included thought that they lost their first fight.
    I don't have a problem with wangek getting the FOTY because at least the rematch was free of controversy.

    Fighter of the Year is somewhat unquestionably Srisaket Rungvisai.

    Dethroned P4P King in close war, then KO'd him cold in rematch.

    Nobody else came close to producing a single result as good as either one of those (Ward over Kovalev probably the only exception).

    But Srisaket is unknown to most boxing fans so will be ignored here.

    Why because he went life and death with a 41 year old shot to **** Wlad? Or because he needed the referee to give him extra time in every second round to beat Takam (who took the fight on 12 days notice) with a BS stoppage? Fighter of the year my ass.
