Of these fighters who has the best Left hook?

100% this. Overall, he probably had the best HW left hook ever. Also, the way he didn't need to set up to throw it, could throw it at all different angles, could reset and throw it again and again immediately, over and over.

 

Anything thrown in combo, a prime Louis is the best or up there with the best. The laser accuracy combined with speed and power were unparalleled, matched maybe only by a prime Tyson. And even then, not really, although that was because Tyson hit too hard to string together long combos, his man was down before he got the chance to land more than 2-3 flush.

 

This. Others might have had a more weighty hook (Foreman, Cooney, and Liston come to mind), but Joe's just had superior timing.

Joe Frazier for me. He got the most out of his hook alone. He had other punches for sure but the hook was breadwinner. And he beat the best heavyweight that anyone ever beat.

 

I always say the samething Tommy had an incredible Hook thrown with insane speed and power he just didnt have the other ingredients needed but if you got caught with that hook it was trouble.

 

I would instinctually pick Frazier but in fairness there are some guys on that list I haven’t seen fight

Eh, I think Foreman, Tyson, Tua, and others had more power in their left hooks.

 

Good argument with Tua, Tyson had more speed , Foreman was just THUD!

 

I think I'd rank Tyson's left hook as #2. Blazing fast, deadly accurate, one-punch KO power. Wasn't as versatile as Frazier's was and Tyson couldn't just rapid fire it over and over like Frazier could due to differences in technique, but if he landed flush, he often didn't need to land it more than once.

 

Foreman fought both Joe and Cooney and believe he said Cooneys left hook was stronger

 

Tbf Frazier was getting pummeled by George twice so I wouldn't say he had much chances to land clean lefts much credit to George.


By instinct I wanna say Joe even if off the fact he dropped a much better guy than either Cooney or Morrison did in Ali.


Call me crazy, but Hearns has a very underrated left hook especially to the body of any division.
