Wlad was very wild in his knockout of Brock. A better fighter would have taken advatage of that. It was a good KD/KO but Lewis never got too wild on his KOs and kept his technique for some of his brutal KOs.

Those uppercuts on Grant were brutal (holding aside) as well as the destruction of Golota. I can't remember... was the Austin fight when he finished it with a left hook? In fairness Austin was a bum so no big deal.

Wlad is obviously powerful but for me: Lennox > Wlad in terms of power.

Look mate. The facts are Lewis exploded an A-bomb on prime Rahman's chin while Wlad had SHOT TO **** Rahman not even really too bothered.

No need to start using 'smileys'...

 

I am one who thinks Wlad doesn't unleash his full power all that often, a lot of his rights don't have quite as much on them until he gets the perfect opportunity. Lately he's beating guys to a pulp rather than just knocking them out with a single shot, I'm sure because of his defensive, careful style. You don't have to like it, but it does appear to be different than what he's capable of doing if he lets himself go. I'm not saying he does or doesn't hit harder than Lewis, but it's something to think about.

The only way to REALLY know who hits the hardest would be to measure on machines, but that isn't really possible.

Lennox Lewis gets my vote; he showed his power against a far, far better level of opposition then Wlad

 

You can make a counter-argument: Wlad knocked (a six years older) Mercer down though with a single left hook, Lennox didn't even wobble him...

Seriously now, I think Wlad sometimes holds his power back and focuses on throwing a technical, precise punch. If he threw his right with the same mean intentions as Lewis in the Rahman fight, the result would be more or less the same. I think they are pretty close power-wise.

True, although that was in the first and could have been considered 'a cold KD'. Wladamir ABSOLUTELY unloaded on Mercer for the rest of the fight and didn't wobble him either. I do admit it's very close in terms of power although I give the edge to Lewis.

 

:huhi don't see wlad replicating the 1-2 that lewis threw against rahman in the rematch. wlad doesn't have lewis' leverage nor his ability to throw from angles.

 

I got to say Briggs, his right hook is devastating to watch when he lands it. Briggs has the most 1st round knockouts of any Heavyweight champ of the last 50 years. If you watched his match against Lewis, he was one solid punch away from knocking Lennox out in the first round. As well as his fight against Liakhovich, where he landed far less power punches than Brewster and had him more hurt than Lamon did. After watching Briggs over the last 10 years, I have to say he's one of the most heaviest handed fighters I have ever seen.

 

And yet he couldn't hurt Ibragimov

 

The same could be said for Wlad as well.:deal Brigg's biggest weakness has always been his stamina, and he never was able to fight with anything more than little bursts here and there. Briggs power is top notch, he also knocked out Ray Mercer cold, the only man to ever do that.
