i think the head but may have just left him off balance..

if you look at his momentum while he was taking the punch
and his feet while he was trying to recover from the head but

i think it may have been a balance thing

he feet are 100% under him after the head but and after he hits the ropes he is moving very fluidly ... im dont support either fighter but i just dont see that he was 100% dizzy from the head but

it was more a clash of heads than a headbutt.

Why would he go back after a headbutt and fall into the ropes?

and instead of covering up he tried to fight back and left himself open ... you see how open he was when he pull back and attempted to throw a punch (or atleast thats what it looks like) and got clipped with that one - two ...

look at Torres before the knockout ... he looked dazed and he looked like he couldn't muster anything to - he looked like he was trying to punch before he got knocked out.

    Balance?

Why the hell do his legs buckle, and he stumbles back and drops his guard completely, straight after the headbutt?

He's hurt. You really have to be near blind to not realise this.

Its just common sense. Even if we take a look at the headbutt alone, and forget the events that follow, you can tell there is real force. It hits him square on the chin, and his head wobbles all over the place. It's a very hard blow. A head is harder than a boxing glove.

Not an intentional headbutt though the effect was big. If the ropes had not caught him he would have gone down from it. As it was the ropes propped him up for the vicious left right combo and lights out.

Holt was on the verge of getting knocked out sooner than later and if it weren't for the clash of heads Torres would've knocked him out.

I will say this, without the headbutt holt still would have kayoed torres. torres was wild going for broke and holt is a great counterpuncher with power in both hands. Now with that being said I would like to give you guys a quote from torres after the fight. take this for whats its worth:

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]A disappointed Torres stated, "I had him. He was in my hands. I got careless. He got me."
