@CST80, been thinking about something like this for a while. Obviously the casuals whose only interest lies in the big DAZN or Top Rank pay-per-view headliners aren't going to care much, but it feels like there are lots of people in the middle who aren't quite so hardcore as to read every single RBR (and let's be honest, a lot of the small hall shows, especially the British and Russian ones despite the odd diamond in the rough, can be dire chores to sit through) but would love to know about the ones that get our Seal of Recommendation™.

I'll start with the pair that I most recently shouted from the mountaintops, wanting to not be the only person that saw them. @CST80 watched & scored them, so he can let you know himself if he vouches for their worthiness for twenty or thirty minutes on a rainy day when you've got a hankering for some good action between relative unknowns.

06/30/2024: Benkei Fight II: Yuki Hamashima vs. Ruku Sasaki RBR
07/11/2024: Матч Боец!: Alexey Yurievich Mazur vs. Tigran Arturovich Uzlyan & Ilya Popov vs. Tikhon Netesov RBR

This is a great thread idea! I missed these but will have to save these for later. Were these originally on DAZN? They must have flew under the radar for me

Are you going to be focusing on new fights, or are obscure older ones fine?

Nope, the Japanese one aired on Abema TV and the Russian one aired on Матч Боец!, which both require a VPN. Neither was picked up by any of the major Western broadcasters.

    The more the merrier!

Well, as long as it's primo stuff. Quality over quantity here. :D

Even though, due to my lack of enthusiasm, it's been a slow year for me in terms of how many matches I've seen, it's still probably in the 400-500 range, so... I'll definitely post a few worthy of this thread, after perusing past Fight List's I've made in Kirk's.:sisi1

My wife, Incontinentia, told me one of the best fights she's ever seen that almost no one but the crowd knows about was Klitschko/Ibragimov.

George Kambosos v Qamil Balla on the Joe Parker Andy Ruiz under card was an entertaining fight.

Lean year for me too, way back when I'd have dozens of small hall RBR threads piled up. Just combed through until the start of the year and these are the only four of mine so far that are both a) probably off the average radar and b) worth going out of one's way to catch. I'm sure you have more than this.

This is definitely before most of the world had eyes on GKJ.

All of you do yourselves a favor, watch Kipp Diggs vs Derrell Coley from the 90s. Its one of the better welterweight fights from that decade and yes I am serious.

Spaniard Jairo Noriega, while a bit featherfisted, he's heavy handed enough and is still entertaining, his fight against Azael Villar was his coming out party.

Even though they're both featherfists and I thought Nathan Heaney won it without much controversy, he had a ton of shaky moments late and Brad Pauls kept most of the rounds fairly competitive throughout. One of the better domestic Brit scraps in 2024 so far.
