I wouldn't go that far. He would be competitive/beat most, but would still be outclassed by the top guys. Plus, some of the guys at 168 are just too large. Him Ko'ing Bute in the amateurs don't mean much, due to his disgraceful whiskers.

Explain how he would be the favorite against Martinez.

Froch might actually call him out. Would love to see it. Ward would make Triple G look ordinary. 3G hasn't faced anyone with good defense.

what impressed me most about him was his defense. footwork, footwork, footwork. when proksa leaned in with combos he slipped his head away and moved back a little

once he is inside, he is all business. hooks to the ribs, hooks to the head, uppercuts, straight rights to the face, mechanical but genius. every time proksa leaned in, he threw the uppercut. hes just very well schooled in the art of fighting

i'd take him over everyone at 160 but martinez that's a pickem fight. 168 i think ward would be too much for him. he's an offense machine and fun to watch. but he can be hit. i notice he got his with a few clean shots tonight. but if he spars heavyweights i guess he's got a good chin.

Golovkin has better tools, better balance 'n hits a TON with both hands, G. Nothing I can prove with Power Point. It would have to be settled in the ring.

I respect your opinion, always will, but I'd favor many top guys from 154-168 to beat him.

I think Martinez would anticipate his well-thrown but not entirely unpredictable leads and counter with a combination or bomb left hand that puts him in trouble and eventually ends the fight by stoppage.

Ward would simply be too good for him. He'd weave in and out, landing combinations at will, and counter so often that Golovkin would be too hesitant to throw anything.

Canelo throws straighter, and even though he's never had to weather a storm like Golovkin, he seems to have a tighter sense of timing and could time a hard straight punch in between his combinations to hurt him. Chavez Jr. would be more likely to pull off such a thing given his volume and durability.

Cotto, whether on the outside or inside, is just more skilled in every area and would have his way with him, despite the size difference.

Aside from them, he's got a great shot at anyone else (Canelo included) and I look forward to seeing him again.

Stupid comment, Ward hasn't been close to even looking touchable during the super 6

People going a little overboard on here. Why would he be favoured over Ward (!!!), Froch, Mayweather or Martinez?
