Ray Robinson, Ali, and Sugar Ray Leonard had great reflexes. Roberto Duran was a good defensive fighter.

Im going with Offence, on this one. thats how you score.

Championship fights are only worth watching if there's at least one offensive fighter in there.

The offensive fighters are more numerous than defensive fighters, so they win more titles, but the defensive fighters are the ones who typically hold onto them for longer.

Never said they didn't, but I based it on what the fighters were best known for. Which in all four cases was their offense.

I think defense. You don't have to brutally beat up every opponent you step into the ring with to get a W. Valuev demonstrated that yesterday with a mere jab and occasional power shot. When you're on the offensive, you're opening yourself up to possibility of getting KO'ed.

In the end it's all about balance. A overly defensive fighter will often lose for inactivity, while an aggressive fighter who charges in with wreckless abandon and neglects defense will end up getting KO'ed ala Katsidis.

Right off the bat...a few important names come to mind with defence as being more important than offence in their arsenal :

    -Bernard Hopkins
    -James Toney
    -Floyd Mayweather Jr.
    -Pernell Whitaker
    -Chris Byrd
    -Winky Wright

A good ''D'' will make you last for many pay days to come....
