It could have been Pavlik tonight... If he hadnt bitched out and ducked Williams. Lets also not forget that Williams wasnt training for Martinez. He was training for a slower, easier to hit Pavlik. He will win more convincingly next time.

 

It's cause of that 119-109 score. If it had been anything closer to the other scores, the screams of robbery wouldn't be so big

I think the fight could have gone either way. But the reason people are correctly calling this a robbery is that one judge seemed committed to simply hand the fight to Williams. When 1/3 of the scoring team is that corrupt or inept, it's effectively a robbery, and definitely a travesty.

 

williams would not have got up after pavlik put him down.

 

Taylor is bigger and stronger and couldn't handle Kelly. Williams will land a lot, but nothing that will bother Kelly, and Pavlik will walk right through that **** and batter Williams. Too big and strong. Kelly will KO Paul Williams.

 

Tremendous fight. I thought highly of both fighters coming into tonight and they didn't disappoint. I gave Sergio the edge (I'm a sucker for clean,flashy punches) but I can't say he got historically robbed. Paul's punches weren't as head-snappy but he was landing steadily too and you can tell by Sergio's face that he caught some damage. The HBO group were split 50/50. These are two special fighters.

 

I really thought Williams' chin was questionable early. I saw him dropped and hurt abd really thought it was shaky, but the amount of punishment later on suggests that I spoke prematurely.

HOWEVER, he should steer clear of Pavlik. Martinez has an unimpressive KO ration at 154 which probably explains how he could ship quite so many punches without going down again. A big puncher like Pavlik could end it very early and easily.
