Mundine was also knocked out about the 8th too... he got hit with a big right hand in the corner and almost got dropped. Plus the 2 point headbutt deduction, plus all the running, and I think he was definately behind. Only just, but definately behind..
Yeah I remember that, he was on the ropes and Ottke got him with an uppercut I think? It stunned him for a second and he started cycling away from Ottke even more after that.

Rather ironic that BoxRec has the scores missing for this particular bout, when it was for the IBF title, and scores for far and away the majority of Mundine's other career fights are all there.

Plus there's the anomaly of the note in BoxRec that says Mundine was in front on points at the time of the stoppage.

When it's all said and done, the only thing that really matters is the offiicial result - Ottke KO 10.

hahaha @ Mundine pushing for a KO

He was on his bike and backpedalling every time Ottke tried to engage with him to the point that Ottke started appealing to the ref.

Mundine was too busy trying to look like Ali with his backpedalling to push for a KO :yep

mundine was def unlucky to be docked 2 points with out a warning for a dubious headbut. then unlucky not to be awarded a knockdownin about round 6. he got caught with a big right hand in round 8 that buckled his legs. in the end it was his poor preperation that cost him. ottke had him in his sights drom about round 8.

If you were within earshot I could be satisfied in the knowledge that I'd explain things by talking very slowly to you.....maybe even draw you a ****ing picture you simpleton :-(

Taking into account the 2 point deduction, one can be safe in the knowledge that the judges had Mundine winning more rounds than Ottke prior to the KO.....and that's near impossible for a challenger in Germany.

Yet according to Mr. Simpleton, Mundine achieved this by backpedalling and refusing to engage. :patsch

No, the reason Mundine was out of gas was due to his high offensive workrate from round 4 on, in a bid to negate the 2 point deduction in a land where winning a decision is considered near impossible.

And if you still don't get it I suggest you undergo an icepick lobotomy to improve your IQ.

Watch it again , around the 2.20 min mark to witness the "dubious headbut" check out the rabbit punches a second or two before it whilst you're at it mate.
