What an amazing fight followed up with one of the weirdest and worst fights I've ever seen. Crazy night everyone
Damn, I remember when Dana White was totally against premiering women fights on PPV and all together at one time. Tonight is a prime example of the ladies going for glory MORE than the men in the main event.
I enjoyed both main event fights. The MMA (at least UFC) audience is a bit different to the boxing audience, I'd say. In boxing it's not a big deal if fighters that can put each other to sleep instantly put on a tactical cautious fight. Look at the first Fury-Wilder and Wilder-Ortiz 2, for example. Those fights were pretty uneventful for the most part, but you didn't heard the audience boo at any stage. This time I think the boos started coming a minute or so into the first round. Even AJ-Wlad, which is viewed as one of the best HW title fights in recent memory was uneventful for the first four rounds. And you can't compare a fight between two men around 200 lbs in the ring with a straw weight fight between two women, or men for that matter. It's just two completely different things. Especially when you have a fighter like Romero, who's extremely strong and explosive but with a small gas tank. Both Adesanya and Romero put on the fight that gave them the best chance to win, nothing wrong with that. And nothing controversial with the decision, since rds 3-5 were clearly Adesanya's for me.
It was boring. We, the fans, wanted the war we was promised. Instead we got a technical boring fight. The crowd want blood so doesn't surprise me there were boo's.
Yeah, the crowd seem to want blood more in the UFC than in boxing. A tactical fight like the one yesterday is more appreciated in boxing, I'd say. I personally thought it was quite exciting and definitely tactically interesting.
Any fight with Romero is pretty much guaranteed excitement. Izzy the terrified chicken did his best to make it not so. Cant wait til Costa smashes the hypejob chicken fraud
Romero had gas left in the tank, but didn't go for it like he could have. Dissapointing output for him. He could have put forth more offense, and why let up when attacking Adesanya against the cage?
