The NRL is corrupt from the top down, if you think Melbourne are the only ones cheating you're deluded. The powerbrokers in Sydney couldn't hack how good Melbourne were so when they got their first chance they destroyed them.
In the end it doesn't matter they can take the trophies, they can change the record books but everyone knows who won those Grand Finals.

for the same reason Andrew Johns had a 10 year drug habit that was not detected in ''random''drug tests.they didnt want too know.they wanted a successful Melbourne franchise and probably turned a blind eye like with Joey.the only reason it came out probably was because a disgruntled employee was gonna blow the whistle.bad luck for you and other Storm fans though.

    WAR GUS GOULD!!!

For all the haters, Gus has been on about the two most pertinent issues in NRL for a loong time

    1. Salary Cap

    2. Referees

Even the Storm couldn't pay Gus enough. Phil Gould should be running the game.

What Gus said last night was spot with whats wrong with the Game.

Im only saying this but say 5 of Melbourne Storms players after this year defect.

I dont care who you are if they do and all this talk that Folau might either go to England or Union its going well.

News Limited are greedy filthy corrupt ****s, and although they have today announced that they will stick with the Storm, I still think they will ditch them in the near future.

The Storm lose around 6 million dollars a year and have never been a financial success. From what I've read, News have been reducing their grants to the Storm in the last few years and have given up on the Storm being a financial success in the NRL.

I mean, lets face it, they've had more success than any other side since they've been in the comp yet they still get terrible crowds and operate at a huge minus each season. If their supporter base didnt significantly improve after all their on field success, then it probably never will. Victorians just simply dont warm to league.

I applaud the NRL with its punishment, but would have liked them to offer Melbourne an alternative for this season. Their offer should have been to release the $700,000 worth of talent ASAP, and then they can start to compete for points again. I'd also add a deduction of points on top of that.

As it stands, the team will now have to bust their arses off week in week out with no competition points to show for it...like the Sharks.

end the salary cap. ceos should be paid high salaries to attract corporate dollars...or teams should be owned by millionairs. buy the best players from all over the world, rugby included.

this half assed capititlist game needs to become fully fledged corporatised. pump in the cash. best team wins. best team of board members, best team of sponsors, best team of player.

im a manly fan and no love for the storm. but half assed professionalism and corporatism wont work.

Schubert has been absolutely useless as a salary cap auditor. He's never pulled the lid on any of the clubs that have been breaching the cap. The Dogs came undone by the daily telegraph, I forget how the Warriors got busted but I'm sure it wasn't by Schubert, and the Storm were sinked by a former disgruntled employee.

By seasons end, don't be surprised to see that only 14 or even 13 clubs will be competing for the premiership.

    Thats my belief also.

I think some other clubs will be found out as they probably may use the same ways of paying players.

This could be huge by the end of the season.

Other teams that i would question over the Years.

    Broncos
    Manly
    Bulldogs
    Roosters
    Souths This Year.

Im not saying there guilty and im not trying to get other fans upset but some of those teams especially Brisbane have had some big name players with huge stars.

My guess is that Brisbane have had a lot of players on their books since they were juniors. Maybe they have kept them signed on longer deals at less money? I'm not sure, just speculating.

The Broncos were more than likely over the cap, same as the Roosters, Titans, and Manly.

There are ways of getting around it, though as Gallop said you have to make sure you dont **** off any employees as they may come back to bite you like in the Storms case.

I breathed a sigh of relief when JT was on FSN just now and never mentioned us as salary cap breachers. :p
