Man i was thinking about how filthy i would be if i were the Canberra Raiders. They sign and help develop Carney from the age of 12(i played him from under 12's development squad's- until jersey flegg when i was with Penny). He ****s up constantly and still they sign him to a huge 400k plus contract due to his skills on the field and of the dream to build a premiership winning team around him. Then he ****s up so much that the club's hands are tied and must sack him.. 16months later and Carney is running amuck on the pitch wearing tri colours.. Man the Raiders were lefted completely ****ed over... No reward from showing some bottle and letting go a player who deserved to be sacked eventhough he was by far the best junior they had produced in years..

After being unable to walk for the best part of a year, and only being able to run for a couple of months, his speed was still up there. Hopefully he stays fit this season.

Thats Canberras call mate .... they sacked him ! they could have stuck by him but at the time he was sacked the Raiders were in great form and Campese was playing ****ing amazing rugby league so they probably thought they could do without that type of influence at the club !
Titans are really low on front rowers at the moment, Hendo and White are still out injured so that leaves only Bailey with Laffranchi coming into help him. Souths can do some damage in the forwards cause as per usual the Titans line speed is ****, they wont win a comp when the team just sits back on their heels. However if Souths halves dont kick well then they could get torn apart like they did in Coffs. Sandow and Sutton were ordinary and the Titans back 3 made them pay big time. Preston Campbell is out this week so Zillman comes in to replace him. My prediction is high scoring close game. Mead gets 3 tries, 2 of them jogging past Wesser and 1 strolling around Merritt.

Souths will be much better than last weekend. They'll be much hungrier for starters, but they'll still be relatively unorganized with their attacking options. Points could still be easy to come by for both sides though. Sutton needs to learn how to get the ball out wide and quick, cos every defensive line we'll come up against will be compressed anticipating a Sutton run with Taylor, Pettybourne, etc running off him. Souths should also form a less compressed line against the Titans. Last year they beat us on the outside fairly easily, and that was when we didn't run off our line with speed. I'll tip Souths on the basis that they'll be out to prove a point, and hunger alone will get them there as the Titans (if Preston's out) will be walking wounder (even though we're still to get Crocker and Ross). The Titans are also starting the year out rusty, the only difference is that they managed to guts out an ugly win which is a good sign for the club.
