Round 1

Niyazymbetovjabs and circles left. Mekhontcev is stalking and drives a hard left jab up high as Niyazymbetov springs back. Jab to the forehead by Mekhontcev marching in with confidence. Right jab to the body by Mekhontcev. Niyazymbetov taps him with a counter left hand and right hook while moving laterally up on his toes. Slapping right hook by Niyazymbetov while drifting to his right and then falling in to hold. 1-2 by Mekhontcev driving Niyazymbetov to the ropes.

Judges' scores: 4-3 to Niyazymbetov.

 

Damn, that might be the first time the judges have turned in exactly the same averaged score as me. :yep

 

Round 2

1-2 by Mekhontcev. Niyazymbetov runs. 1-2 to the body from outside by Niyazymbetov, not following through with it. Niyazymbetov throws a high combo and Mekhontcev moves between the punches and plants the flag on Niyazymbetov's face with a hard right jab. Exchange of jabs as Niyazymbetov backs up. Mekhontcev smacks him across the back and top of the head with a right hook as Niyazymbetov bows and tries to grab him. Flush right jab by Mekhontcev. Niyazymbetov flicks a counter jab and then ties up. Mekhontcev misses a jab but crashes a left into the side of Niyazymbetov's head. Clinch. Right jab to the body by Mekhontcev, and one to the face.

Judges' scores: 5-4 to Mekhontcev and knotted up at 8 apiece.
