Adrien Broner beats Maidana in a rematch. Stiverne only wins a belt if it's handed to him or he fights Arreola for it Floyd-Pac still doesn't happen Khan gives a much better than expected performance against Floyd, but still loses Odlanier Solis and Pulev will be top five heavyweights by the year's end. Wilder will only be top 10 by most rankings due to so-so comp. Kovalev marks his spot as the man at 175 GGG remains unbreakable Hopkins keeps puttering along. Maybe winning ugly, maybe losing ugly. But not retiring and not fighting the top of his division. Roy beats Toney in the rematch. Tim Bradley remains unbeaten. Danny Garcia loses to Floyd in the the 3rd or 4th quarter of 2014. Johnny Gonzales loses Rigo remains the man and Donaire does not fight him Boxers finally stop failing so many PED's tests (possibly by masking).
Broner fights only once all year and looks crap Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury both lose by stoppage Amir Khan fights only once all year but last all 12 rounds against Mayweather, loses but he performs better than anyone since Cotto Pac- Bradley 2 happens, Pac wins but this time he is the one who should've lost. Mike Perez and Andy Ruiz Jr are rated in The Ring and TBR top 10 Heavyweights Gary Russell Jr finally fights a top 10 guy and looks sensational. This time next year people are calling for Russell Jr- Mikey Garcia like they currently are Stevenson-Kovalev Stevenson loses his title before a fight with Kovalev happens Lomachenko and Salido first fight is so close they rematch Shafikov and Crawford win belts at Lightweight Kazuto Ioka vs Nayoe Inoue happens on the 31st Dec 2014 Carl Froch and Geroge Groves have a rematch Nonito Donaire beats Simpiwe Vetyeka for the WBA belt Chris John will either announce his retirement or not fight again this year. Kell Brook wins a world title Tyson Fury gets knocked out cold and retires GGG loses and gets called a hypejob Floyd doesn't fight Khan Chad Dawson gets knocked out again Gamboa beats Mikey Garcia
I was gonna put the Kell Brook one put I think Porter will defend in a rematch against Alexander and they will try and keep the IBF belt in house at GBP. Add Brook gets ducked by title holders to my list :deal
I going to go out on a looong limb here and say: Cotto beats Martinez in June and becomes lineal MW champ Mayweather-Cotto II in Setpember for the MW title Mayweather wins in a tough fight and adds another division to his legacy. Just going for something that's possible but not obvious.
Rigondeaux becomes the undisputed #1 P4P Mayweather beats Khan & Maidana starts looking into 154 Pacman loses again Wilder steps into the ring as the underdog Raymi steps into the ring as the underdog Thurman stays undefeated Tyson Fury loses Chisora loses
If you think Mayweather wins both his fights this year, how exactly do you see Rigo becoming P4P number 1? Who can he beat which would put him above Mayweather? :huh
Rigondeaux breaks ahead of Mayweather, because he will fight whoever the fans want him to fight...While Mayweather will fight whoever he wants... It's logic
It's not about who you don't fight. It's about who you fight. Mayweather is the best fighter of his era and just had a great 2013. He could fight once all of 2014, against Khan, lose a few rounds in the fight, and he'd still be #1 because there's nobody out there close to him and nobody out there for those on the P4P list to beat to leap frog him.
The fans will want Rigondeaux to fight Leo Santa Cruz Leo Santa Cruz is GBP, Rigondeaux is Top Rank. After that the division pretty shallow. Frampton and Quigg are building toward a fight with each other. He's not a man that commands big money fights. Fighting Lomachenko in only hos 3rd fight won't put him ahead of Mayweather. Nor will fighting the likes of Darchinyan, Montiel and Mjares. I don't see anyway he will get above Mayweather and Ward unless those guys lose.
Yuuuuup But nobody will accuse either of them for ducking... That only applies to certain hated fighters. ... Agreed with, or at least am hopeful for, most of you '14 predictions, Hans.
