Sorry mate, his statistics don't match up with The King's. Lewis also did things that aren't measured by statistics. He controlled the game, took it by the scruff of the neck.

 

8 games to 4 is a statistic isn't it?

Stats? Lockyer has the stats, Lewis was unlucky in that a QLD came in too late for him to test out his true status over time.

Lewis' true status was proven in the greatest cauldron of all - Origin. Don't underestimate the strength of the BRL at the time either. Half the test side was running around in it and it was miles (Gene?) better than it is now.

Absolutely. I grew up in the mid 80s and have been to more BRL matches than I can remember. The quality of the competition was incredible. Feel free to go on - defending Lewis is a pretty easy debate.

 

The 80s hey ippy , they were the days , What about the king doing a drug test after a state of origin game and being totally dehydrated just waits till the offical gets distracted for a sec and pours a flat xxxx into the test cup and hands it over . The senator had to have a talk to the emperor a fortnight later not to do that stunt again. Need more team bus drivers like the king too - **** he used to terrorise the brissy roads in the leadups to qld origin games with big russ hinzes blessing. got the man of match 8 times in state of origins - never ever to be done again.
