:bbb Tigers are my favourite NRL side and benji my fav player in the sport. I think they will go very close this season. Will the rugby union world cup have much effect on the NRL this season or has union really lost that much public interest that nobody really cares? I expect the ARU are desperate for Australia to do well to give there a game a shot in the arm.
http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp...in-booze-blunder/story-e6frexnr-1226013807931 drink driving fair enough Carney's breaking the law and endangering others but this is nothing.
Nah it's nothing, but it is stupid. These guys are under scrutiny. It shouldn't come to this if they had more common sense.
i thought the roosters were all under booze bans or something? i guess thats just during the season... the pricks have a long history of **** heads and idiots. Freddy Fitler was a shocker
gee they're just young fellas having a good time.if they drink drive, harass women, brawl fair enough but this guy got a little stroppy and they call the copsatschsame as Danny Green he drops the F word and the hospital calls the cops. i reckon its just overkill and i dont even like the Roosters or Danny Green.the money would be nice but being high profile sportsman would suck IMO.
Dunno Stiffy, I reckon I could handle training twice a day, playing once on the weekend and doing **** all else. Surely all you've got to do is leave a pub or club before you know you've had too much. There's probably not much in it, but why make yourself a target to begin with...
i think alot of these guys prob having an issue handling the **** because they are so fit... most of my mates that are fitness freaks and huge ****s are total cadburys
They train twice a day, and depending what day it is the club sends them off to a nearby school to mingle with kids or down to a signing session at a nearby shopping centre. The morning after a game at 7am they have recovery to warm down and inspect the injuries. They dont have as much free time as I first thought all because the clubs are trying to keep them away from the **** and getting themselves into trouble It doesnt seem to be working for the scum...:-lol: http://www.foxsports.com.au/league/...ncident-in-bondi/story-e6frf3ou-1226013933105 Dr Gonz has a pt, these fit pricks cant handle their **** :yep
A good mate of mine played A grade for the Broncos a few years ago. He was the only guy in the squad who had a job. He worked in between training sessions, because there was that much time to fill in.
i just think iots getting to the stage that they cant go out like their 'regular' mates and be normal with people using mobile phones and the press paying for compromising photos of 20-25 year olds doing what normal people their age do.they should be able to have a normal life.
of course thats what happened atsch But he's still an A grade mug, everyone knows that is a possibility when you have a heavy night, he's on his p's & cant have any grog in his system, if i was Carney under those circumstances, i wouldnt get behind the wheel for 24 hours just to be safe, its just not worth it with his form
Thought I would post this as there were rumours NRL teams were looking at him. This is a major problem for Rugby League in the UK. We cant compete with what Union clubs can pay in wages and they can now come and get the best young talent producd by Rugby League. Gutted this kid is leaving the game as his very very talented and I would of been happy to of seen him go to the NRL. Reports say Union scouts are basically always at Wigan's Jnr teams games looking at the talent.
I hate poaching. But that being said the players are almost as much to blame as the clubs that try buy them.
League don't really have any right to cry about the player drain to Union , Here in Wales the sport has been raped of it's best talent for the best part of a century, Union going pro has ended that now to a certain extent , gone are the days when blokes with cloth cap's arrived in Wales with a cheque book and a one way ticket up North .
