russell crowe pays $10m for a house..

which means, this house is worth 3.3 times as much as the entire south sydney football club (based on what rusty paid)

one house is worth 3.3 times more than:

100 years of history.. 19.5 premierships.. the proud red & green jersey.. 25 footballers, 1 coach and 8 trainers...

    for shame souffs, for shame...:-:)-:)-(

Stiffy, theres no way you could be Scum4life. You both share love for a **** sports team, and a sport thats going down the toilet in this country, but scum4life actually knows how to edit video clips and make compilation videos. You however, needed my assistance just to register on this forum.:yep

You are fat, and your posts do come off pretty spaccery, but at least I know you've lost your virginity, even if it was to something more manly looking than Tyson holding a broadsword (Sandy :barf Sheryl:barf).:deal

actually, he only really bought the management rights, theres a whole host of things he can & cant do, the members still retain all cultural choices on colours & logo etc

In any case i'd say it was money well spent seeing as we are actually making money, no other club in Sydney is & thats without a leagues club grant, we also have the most members in Sydney, the most sponsorship, the best home ground & as i've said before, we didnt have to bend over for an elderly American billionaire & sell our heritage & future :good:hey

He is right about Crowe and HaC not being able to change the colours, relocate the club. They only own 37.5% each, and the remainding 25% is owned by the members. If Crowe wants to merge, relocate, or name change the team, he has to put it through a vote, and get more than 75% (I think) from the members.

I dont agree with Homebush being the best stadium. Sure its big, but it's terrible to watch league at. Id prefer it if we were still at the SFS, but such is life.

Wouldn't it only have to be a majority vote? So if Crowe and HaC both agree to do something, there isn't **** all the fans/members can do about it.

    No.
It goes to the members, and I think the figure needed is 75%.
At the end of the day, if Crowe isnt happy and gets out, the club would just go back to the members and they'd again decide whether to put it back on sale.

He has to return it in no worse state than when he paid out for it

cant see him selling, the club is trading at a marginal gain, whereas just about all the clubs are trading at a loss, the leagues club is due to reopen in a few weeks, its not like he's short of a quid, & he has good management running the show now, its one of the more proffesionally run clubs
