He was an alright player for "those days" but put his ability in "these days" and he would struggle to get in a single NRL side.

I'm a Manly and Fatty fan from way back.

 

If there is ever a strong era for 2nd rowers it's right now. There are ****ing millions of the ****s. 98 kg plus kids are piling into the system at an alarming rate. In 10 years time Paul Gallen type of a player will be the norm.

He aint no Brad Clyde or Bob Lindner. He was Fatty Vautin whose heart was alot bigger than his talent. A little fella who tackled his arse off and ran full tilt alot of times.

Is Ben Smith still in your 26? My goodness, I thought the Eels dusted him along with Reddy and others. You wouldnt have Fatty ahead of ****** Horo either would you.

Smith was one of Parras better players last season. I'd definitely have Fatty ahead of the Horo of last season.

 

Horo had a spell of playing some really good footy last season and did ok out in the centres aswell.

 

Nobody's even compared footy players from yesteryear with today's, what's to say if fatty was playing now, he wouldn't train the same as modern players, have same fitness & nutrition benefits etc

Really stupid argument your trying to lay on, fatty doesn't have to & nor does any player, justify there status in the game against another era

 

what are you saying teke , that fatty could'nt hold his own with all the modern training and weight gaining methods these days against watmough ,tony williams , lillyman ,mateo , nuuausala , burgess , taylor , glenn , bolton , hall , hindmarsh , proctor , manu , bird , beau scott , creagh , picker , harrison , smith , topou , waterhouse , plum , z.taia , costigan , ryan , pritchard , fulton and ellis . no GOAT in this mob , good second rowers but no champions or immortals here . he measures up easily against todays robots in heart , footy brain , speed , tackling , running the ball and leadership.

 

Silly point you make...you can say that about lots of players from past era's.
