If Merritt didnt set the comp on fire when he finished the season at fullback last season, I'd have Inglis there. He has played there before, and Bellamy has said that he's a natural fullback. Still, a 107kg fullback is a bit odd.

Merritt is rumored to have broken his toe and may miss the start to the season. Talanoa to fullback. :-(

Haha Talanoa...Bloke is like shannon heggarty..does a decent dart from dummy half on occassion but holy **** he makes some dreadful mistakes.

 

true, he makes some mistakes & his positional play leaves a lot to be desired

I'm not sure if it was Bellamy or Bennet, or some other coach who anylises everything but someone came out, i thinbk it was the year before last, & reckons he was the fastest player back on his feet playing the ball in the comp & was up with making some serious metres when he did have a run


I dont rate him much for the mistakes he makes though

 

That's one of the few areas that he is great at.
You'll also find that issac gets most of his good runs from when tulz plays the ball.

 

There's only two ways the All Star game can go I'm afraid.

1. A mickey mouse game that the players end up resenting

2. A fierce rivalry which will do very little for race relations if the supporters (not necessarily the players) develop an origin style hatred. Last thing that is needed on either side of the fence.

That would be my ideal position for him. Inglis is freaky like Hayne. So it makes sense to have him in such a pivotal position like FB.

 

Provided he has match fitness, I reckon he could handle fullback in his current condition.
He still has speed, a great step and can fend very well. Having GI at fullback will see him get far more ball too as opposed to touching it say 8 times a game.

 

Definately a gun at the scoot and quick play the ball but as u said leaves alot to be desired in most other aspects of the game..

Souths wont win a comp in my kids lifetime, and I dont intend on becoming a father until I'm 90. :-(

 

For all you know, Ippy could drop dead tomorrow, then you'll be in the hunt as early as this season.
