So, Gold Coast sacked him knowing full well that he'd turn out to be an exciting halfback, but still sacked him because of disciplinary reasons, yet later on go on to sign Greg Bird, Myles, etc.

Thats bull**** tekster. Hughes got him for peanuts as he was an unknown at the time. Also, I dont recall any other clubs being in the hunt for Sandow back then.

I think he was offloaded because he may have been a major player in the Coffs Harbour incident.

Same as that young gun centre they had, short stocky bloke...he'd been there only 2 seasons and all of a sudden he left and went to the UK. He's back now playing for the Cowboys I think?

Yes there were many ppl touting him as Princes replacement but it doesnt mean he was going to replace him. He was a player identified to go on to bigger things, well before ole super scout Hugsey came into the picture
