The Rugby League Commission has scrapped the McIntyre Finals System and adopted the AFL one. Anyone know how that works?
THE McIntyre system has finally been dumped by the NRL with this year's finals to be similar to the AFL. On the day of the official season launch, the ARL Commission informed all 16 clubs it had accepted a recommendation to move away from the McIntyre system, which had been a part of the NRL since 1999. For the first time since 1996, the competition will split the top four and the bottom four finalists into separate pools in week one. The format guarantees the top-four clubs can not be eliminated in the first week of the finals. "As the competition has become closer and the impact of home and away finals matches even more significant, the system has become a source of increasing debate, ARLC Chief Executive,'' ARLC chief executive David Gallop said. "The allocation of home venues in the second week of the McIntyre system has been a particular concern.'' This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected

Very tragic news indeed. The worst part is that it could have been avoided. The doctors later found out that before his body was found in the wash, he had actually OD'd on land. Doctors say that all that was needed was for someone to strike the man with just enough force so that he would break out of his unconscious state, and break back into normal. Unfortunately for the man, the only one who tried reviving him was Joe Calzaghe.
Great news. It gives the finals series, a real genuine finals feel about it right from the get go. :good
About ****ing time we got rid of that abomination... Now if we could now get rid of the useless ****s AKA Sharks.
Yeah it's the only competition in the world where the fans have no ****ing idea what is going on during the finals... :rofl Too bad I won't get to cheer on my team in the new system... :|
