Thats true, however Thursto does play the stereotypical halfback role. Hayne in 09 was basically a third half. He controlled a lot of the game and came up trumps 90% of the time, guve hum a chance fully fit.
I'd rather have Hayne at fullback to be honest. He is great running the ball back from kicks, and his positional play is top shelf as well. Give him a licence to roam and ball play in attack, and we'll get the best out of him from both spots.:good
:yep big grudge match coming up this round - dogs vs Sea Eagles, all the old insults come out for these games :yep Dessie's coachin' a pack a rapists the treacherous turncoat ****!!!!
He's got an absolutely devastating attacking kick mate. He shits all over Benji with his attacking kicks. :deal Never seen him kick for conversion yet though.
Most fullbacks these days are an extra half. They are just as pivotal as the 5/8th. Leave him at fullback and just put more responsibility in his hands will make him much more immeasurable as a player. GI fits that mould as well.
he does, but GI has also had a tonne of success at 5/8. He won the 2007 Clive Churchill medal playing 5/8 and I also think he picked up Dally M 5/8 of the year in 2008. He has bulked up since then though, and as we've already gone over, is less elusive. I'm happy with him at fullback, but at the same time, would love to see him go to 5/8 and bring Merritt in at fullback.
