Really hope Tate, Slater and some of the others aren't too badly hurt. A few guys were playing on one leg. Slater and Inglis were amazing under that high ball. Take nothing away from NSW though they did well. Cronk should have let Carney go because he still had a chance to strip it and Carney still had to ground the ball.

Robbie Farah turned on one of the great individual state of origin performances of all time. It was reminiscent of Elias back in the day.

****** Hodges was again a **** up. Most of the game he walked onto the ball and ran sideways. Outside of club level he ain't all that special of a dummy half runner anymore. And Dave Taylor looked pretty lost for the most part. Silly bugger!

 

Carney justified his selection but was still pretty quiet...maybe thats the game he should play though. Go through the motions, lay in wait then explode with an attacking play...let Farrah and Pearce do the lions share of the other work.
Any chance we can groom another kicker though, before he came to Cronulla I didn't even realise he was a goal kicker but now he is the no1 choice for the Origin team? He is average at best and can't handle the pressure kicks like Thurston can.

Hayne should put more flight on his drop outs aswell...I mean they go far and he is the man for the job but there is no point launching it flat for 45-50m only for QLD to grab it and have 30m of open ground until the defensive line.

 

Due to the shitty weather, it's hard to get maximum range from a kick.

 

Who could forget Noel Cleal's drop out in 84.

 

Well I was still a swinger in Dads nutsack so I may have missed that one... Was it a doozy?

 

I was only 3 at the time, but I have a video of origin highlights from 80-85.

It was a stinker. Completely missed the ball (it was very very muddy) and it gave Queensland a kick for goal right in front of the sticks.

Robbie Farah shut alot of haters up. Good game thought after the 1st half where we were dominant but still behind that might be a bad omen. Winning the series at Suncorp gonna be awesome.

bird man of the match atsch the guy tries hard but he turned the ball over nearly every time he touched it. he just gets white line fever and panics himself into a mistake or gets in the way

 

Disagree mate, last night he played himself silly. He was incredible last night.

 

He played well but he ****ed up a couple of times, Farah should have been man of the match, over 60 tackles and not one missed tackle...

 

I thought Farrah deserved it more but Bird certainly played his heart out..a few errors but he was a workhorse...34 tackles, nearly 150m ran (about the same as Gallen I think)..offloaded a couple of times, broke a few tackles...he was a handful most of the night.

 

Tim Grant bowling Petero over should have been a favourite highlight.
