    Newcastle Knights board gives tick to mining magnate Nathan Tinkler's offer to buy club

    The board of NRL club Newcastle Knights has given an in-principle approval of mining magnate Nathan Tinkler's $100 million offer to buy the club.


    A club spokesperson confirmed that a funded patrons model had also been tabled at the board meeting on Wednesday night but was rejected in favour of the millionaire magnate's plan.
    Chairman Rob Tew said the board would put Tinkler's buyout plan to members by March as time was needed to sort through a number of other issues.
    The offer from Tinkler guarantees the club at least $10 million a year in sponsorship revenue for the next 10 years and wipes out their estimated $4 million debt.
    Just two months ago, Knights chairman Tew rejected a $10m offer from Tinkler for the licence but he substantially increased that amount and won the board over.

    Trust me, noone thinks the Roosters are any kind of favourites for this years title.

    They will do a Parra and kark it to the bottom of the 8 or lower.

    Souths will finish higher

    Id never take my laptop to shark park ill tell you that much.

    I only take mine at home games cos its very safe where i sit.

    its not like i use it during the game, Just before it and after it. Sometimes i get it out at halftime to look at the stats of both teams.

    Anyway we had this talk last year, Get over it ****ers :tong

    Just isnt my cup of tea, thats all.

    I was invited to a corporate box once and I hated it. You're away from all the fun and atmosphere. May as well watch the game on tv.

    Im not always up there, and not always with my laptop, As you said your away from the Atmosphere.

    Sometimes im down in the members area in the crowd, and when im at away games im always in the crowd.

    I can understand you completely though. And i agree.
