My freinda are making excuses but I cant. What excuse is there ? Heres one BJ only lost because GSP had a perfect PERFECT gameplan and excuted it. He has a 6 inch reach advantage and used it BJ had nothing to jab while George could pepper him with stiff jabs that BJ couldnt see because GSP was actually occasionally starting it with body jabs. Then clinch use your phyiscal strength to wear BJ out by making him work to stay on his feet then hey the man tires just enough to the point of where your takedowns come easy now. BJs rubber guard was crap tonight because GSP had it scouted wonderfully go back and watch soon as he feels a high guard his head is up he postures and throws devestating strikes. Im disapointed BJ lost but GSP has clearly surpassed him now hopefully BJ can go back to 155 he cant compete with 170s best right now.

I suspect that the most common excuse will be that Penn shouldn't have come up to 170. And I'm not saying that's a totally unreasonable thing to say.
But, it's difficult to use that as an excuse after the fact when before the fight these same guys were predicting a Penn win.
Penn deserves credit for stepping up in weight. He certainly never backs away from challenges and he should be commended for that. But, he has shown in the past that he can hold his own at 170, so it would be foolish to now suggest that was the sole reason he lost. He lost because GSP was a much better fighter.

i am not dis crediting him but is there anybody else you know who has more losses that his fans excuse him for. If he wants to fight above his weight class he shouldn't get a free pass he has a losing record when he fights above 155 so he shouldn't bother because those guys he fights don't get as much credit because he is smaller.

And then if he "comes in shape" or get's injured is always out there as well.

Come on man what are the excuses besides him being at a higher weight ? I never here excuses for the Jens Pulver loss. GSP is a huge excuse maker he told Matt Hughes to his face after the 1st fight oh I didnt even sleep for 2 days or Serra he says oh no I got beat fair no excuses then 2 weeks later he claims he cracked and had to be honest about his personal problems. Also im tired of the other threads saying BJ didnt train or looked flat or pathetic no GSP made him look pathetic BJ was prepared for this fight but one guy is levels above him now and had a superior gameplan.

Muhammad Ali said it best when he said that when " I fought Sonny Liston, his shoulder was hurt. When I fought Ernie Terrell - his eye was hurt. When I fought Floyd Patterson - his back was hurt. They all have something wrong after I fight them!"

Penn should stick to the 155 weight category, GSP was too strong for Penn in his guard.

and for people who say HW fight people who are much bigger than them, thats true but its harder t lighter weights.

B.J. Penn's camp has filed a formal complaint with the Nevada State Athletic Commission over Vaseline that was allegedly rubbed on Georges St. Pierre's back between rounds one and two. UFC president Dana White said at the post-fight press conference that he was aware of the complaint, and said he personally witnessed members of the commission take the Vaseline away from GSP's camp and rebuke them in the Octagon between rounds.

"I saw the commission jump up there and flipping out," said Dana White. They said one of the guys was rubbing Vaseline on Georges' back in between rounds. It was one and two, I think."

"The guys from the athletic commission went up there and started screaming at them. Knocked the Vaseline and kicked the Vaseline out of the Octagon."

White added that "some Vaseline on a guy's back didn't change the outcome of that fight, but you don't do it," and said the blame should fall on the cornerman responsible and not GSP.

"If a guy was intentionally putting Vaseline on a guy's back, he should never corner a mixed martial arts fight again."

As for what becomes of the complaint now, White said it's out of his hands.

"Who knows. That's up to the commission."

    ohh here it comes!
GSP the CHEATER. I Knew it, the vaseline created an effect on the eye of BJ Penn so he wasnt able to see reality, so GSP isnt a better striker .It all make sence.

I reckon the reason BJ is saying this is because he couldn't effectively use his rubber guard. But that was due to GSP being too strong and powering out of it.

I'm quickly getting sick of BJ at the moment.
