i try and avoid giving Murdoch my money wherever possible, although i do watch the football in the pub sometimes (dodgy satellite link is ideal). To pay Warren and Murdoch extra money for such a card is unthinkable for me, purely on principle.

It's no good for the sport, but i will be watching a live stream as per normal. The sport could be massive again if the people in power were brought to heel a little. The floating public have been pushed away from the sport for too long.

The thing is Amir is popular amongst the Northern Asian population and the fight will sell.

not in my experience. i've got plenty of cousins / family friends who love amir khan and have been completey sucked in by the itv hype...however, none of them are big enough boxing fans to pay 15 quid for an event.

more likely they'll find someone with a chipped cable box and go round his house.

Do Sky release their PPV figures? I know the Yank channels do, I be really interested to see if they manage to sell this.

I'd love to know how many actually buy this PPV. I doubt many real boxing fans will buy it but I'm intrigued about the more casual fans.

Think Sky may have overestimated Khan's popularity - going from free to air TV to shelling out £15 for Sky box office is quite a leap.

Also, those who do buy it this time round may not be so willing next time if this bill fails to impress on the night.

I hope the decision backfires or I fear we will just get more of the same and there will be little incentive for them to raise their game.

Going from watching him for free against nobodys, when he signed for sky i thought it was enough that i will be paying for Sky and skysports on top of that to watch a good domestic(mebe euro) fighter fighting a nobody with a hot air record. but nope sky and frank think amir has turned into ricky hatton over night and now some how see the potential of making lotsa money by getting him on PPV, good job sky and frank youve out done your selves this done.

    Watch it flop. )
p.s they havent returned my email either )

I honestly don't think Khan interests the casual fans enough so they'll pay £15 to watch him against a guy they've never heard of. Most people I know will watch him in the pub on a Saturday night if he's on, but arn't too arsed if they miss it.

I know Hatton vs Mayweather got 2million buys, thats about of 5million sky subscribers.

They would need to sell 100,000 Homes for a PPV to make more money putting it on normal sky and selling adverts.

Those Hatton figures are very impressive for a 4am fight. I think 100,000 is doable with the Asian community????

Basicly its not Skys fault, and its not Warrens fault, quite simply the reason we have to pay for this fights is because guys like Khan and Hatton are money hungry!

Sky could not afford to buy the rights unless they out Khan and Hatton on PPV! Shame on them.

Its important Khan and Hatton get overpaid

because they want more money than you

they want more property than you

they want more cars and material possessions than you

they want to reitre early with a bigger pension than you

Khan and Hatton are all about being rich and as well off sa they possibly can be

    if they got £10 million

    they want £10 million more

    its as simple as that

    the gravy train dont stop

    the more the better

:patsch No, Sky could have bid for the card and not factored in the PPV, they did factor it in and that was their choice. Where else would Warren have had to go with the card if Sky put in a non-PPV offer?

Seems to me Rob you've had a Email back from Sky telling you basically "Tough ****, now **** off" and decided to blame the fighters on the back of it?
