Come on, just admit it. If the judges gave Canelo every round in this one and lifted his arm at the end, you would be the first to compliment their “great judging”. You would have celebrated Canelo’s historic victory as if the actual fight never happened. Bivol is just a better fighter and he gave Canelo a boxing lesson last night.

People saying Bivol is just bigger will have to get new excuses ready when Bivol fights Canelo at 168. He says he can make 168 and I think he will do it unless Canelo’s team tries to short change in on the rematch. Fans who are saying “Canelo ain’t a 175 pounder, he’s a 168 pounder” will be saying “let’s see Bivol fight him at 160”.

Bivol isn’t a small guy moving up or an old guy looking for a final paycheck. He gave Canelo a thorough boxing lesson and I could easily see him knocking him out if they fight again. Bivol looked like he could have fought five more rounds after the fight and his face was unmarked. Canelo? He wasn’t wearing those shades because it was sunny at the presser…

I ask for 24989824842 time, on what exactly you score the 1st round for Canelo? On what exactly? He was outworked, and outlanded 14 to 5.
He outlanded both in jab and power department BIG TIME.
He was also hitting thin air and Bivol arms. So now we are going to score rounds for someone landing on someone gloves/arms ?

Some of you people are really terrible with their bias.

It's not pointless, cause if 1 more round was close, they would have given that round to Canelo and screw Bivol with draw.
They already screw way too much of Canelo opponents with this pre-fill cards.
Everyone should talk how bad the judging scorecards are, cause they were going for robbery, but Bivol simply destroys him.
It was 11-1 or 12-0, at the very best for Canelo 10-2 fight.
Sorry but it's outrageous if you score such a fight 115-113.
You need to win at least 10 clean rounds to get a narrow victory.
Next time could be worst tho.

I TOLD you guys last night the cards were filled in pre-fight. They all agreed on the 4 round sweep, then
assumed Canelo would work out the last 8 rounds for a decision. As the fight wore on they rubbed out the
previous scores 5-12. Having the scores such that Bivol had to win the 12th round was the best they could do
to make it appear fair and square.

Come on, 1st round was a clear Bivol round. Even the dog**** compubox certify this. Bivol landed 14, to just 5 shot. He also land more power shots through this round, on what exactly anyone is scoring this round for Canelo ?

Judges don’t need Canelo punching a guy in the arm to give away a fight. The announcers were schilling and cheerleading for Canelo, the ref and all three judges were in Canelo’s pocket. No wonder Canelo raised his arms after the final bell abs assumed he would get the decision. The final scores were insanely bad. I watched the fight again this morning with the sound off and found it hard to give Canelo more than two rounds. Realistically this could have easily been an 11-1 Bivol win. Bivol was so relaxed and moved so much better than Canelo. I’ve never seen Canelo this frustrated in a fight. He was gassed and slow. I hope Bivol Knicks his ass at 168 next time to shut up the guys complaiiing about Bivol being bigger. Canelo will probably look for a max hydration clause that only applies to his opponent, use loaded gloves and call Victor Conti for special “vitamins”. Not going to work, Bivol beats him even worse next time. I think he knocks Canelo out next time. The ref will probably give him five minutes to recover after calling it a slip. The scummy side of boxing was on display last night. Glad Bivol was able to win with the deck stacked so unfairly in favor of his opponent.

To have them even after 4 rounds was the best you could do for Canelo.
    I think I gave him rounds 2,4,9

Nah I would have said Bivol should have won if Canelo got the nod. That's how I roll I always keep it real, I'm not into the fanboy stuff or the hate. And the post was about how many fans recognize how close the first 4 rounds were, with some scoring each of those rounds to Canelo so the idea that giving 5 rounds is corrupt or wrong just doesn't make sense.
He was better on the night, even Bivol said himself in the post fight that all he did was beat Canelo this time. A rematch could be very different, I think Canelo is capable of beating Bivol but he needs to perform better than he did last night in order to win.
Well if Bivol is a man of his word, he'll fight him at 168. But if Canelo beats him at 168 they'll then discredit Canelo and say he drained him even though it was Bivol's idea to come down. You can't have it both ways, and we need to give props to Canelo to handicap himself by fighting him at 175. That's how great Canelo his, he needs to fight and higher weights against the very best because of how dominat he is at his normal weights. That's the measure of a truly special fighter who lives for taking big risks that make him feel alive.
You can call it whatever you want and say it was a boxing lesson. I'm not saying I really disagree I just think it's overkill to claim it was a schooling or an easy night for Bivol. Canelo landed some good shots just got hit with too many shots particularly in the last rounds. And Canelo really bruised up Bivol's bicep like he did vs Callum Smith. Great fight, fun to watch but the better man on the night won. Canelo isn't afraid of losing, he takes risks no one in the sport takes and had an incredible run over the last 10 years. Undefeated for 9 years while having the best resume in boxing. He's taken on an endless stream of undefeated Champ after undefeated Champ while moving up in weight. This isn't a time to criticize Canelo or kick him when he's down. He ran into a tough Prime technically skilled LHW Champ last night and took an L, but props to him for challenging himself against the very best.

"arguably". If you're looking for reasons to give Bivol every round you can probably find reasons to do that, but being a fair and unbiased scorer is different. Those first 4 rounds could all easily go to Canelo as the judges saw it. It wasn't a 9 round fight, it was a 12 round fight and Bivol won more rounds over the 12. I'm just saying 5 rounds to Canelo isn't unreasonable given how close and well Canelo did over the first 4 rounds and in round 9.

I remember that I wasn't sure who won 2 and 3 when watching it live, but I did think Canelo won the first. I also thought 4 and 5 were close. Glad you went back and realized how close the 3rd was. Still nothing wrong with giving Canelo the first 4, but if you gave 1 or 2 of those first four to Bivol I don't think there's anything wrong with that. They were close.

In fairness, I agree with most of the things you said. Canelo deserves props for taking this difficult fight. I said that before the fight and feel the same afterwards. Also, he always comes into a fight in shape and fights gamely. No one can deny that. I respect Canelo’s work ethic and professionalism.

I really resent the protected house fighter position he is in. Judges always giving him the advantage, even the ref was trying his best to give Canelo every advantage. This is why I can never fully be a Canelo fan. I don’t like the corruption that surrounds him, it’s bad for boxing. Not saying it’s his fault, but everyone surrounding Canelo is scummy.

Also, a couple things you and I see a little differently. Bivol isn’t a big 175 pounder. He isn’t super long or muscular and didn’t win that fight by overpowering Canelo. He outboxed him with a steady jab, great movement (although he didn’t run away) and controlled every aspect of the fight. He outlanded him decisively, and showed a much higher ring IQ than Canelo along with great defense. Hope he does it again at 168 and I think he will as long as Canelo doesn’t try to lowball him and offer chump change. This is the guy who just beat Canelo more convincingly than he’s been beat in a long time. Canelo fans were chirping along with the so called experts before this one, when Canelo was a 4-1 favorite. Now that he’s lost convincingly, the same people have amnesia and he’s “not really a LH anyway”. When he beat the shell of Kov, he was a historic fighter. If he loses to Bivol at 168, can we expect you guys to say “no excuses BUT Canelo isn’t a 168 fighter. Let’s see Bivol come down to 160 and try to beat Canelo”?

Lastly, I watched the fight again today and every time I watch it can’t give Canelo more than three rounds, if I try. Objectively, I gave him one round, two if I try hard. Bivol has a better gas tank and is a smarter fighter. He’s also longer, younger and stronger. He outclassed Canelo and won a ridiculously close fight on the cards. Bivol should factor that in if he gives Canelo a rematch. He’s going to have to dominate even more to get the nod in the rematch, especially if it’s in Vegas, corruption capital of the world.

    "Crowd scoring"

You can't be serious mate, Bivol won 3 rounds from the opening 4 and the judges were in lock-step with oneanother.

    "Pay-roll scoring"

Call it what it is mate.
