Erislandy Lara * I rated fighters based on resume, so it's my "Greatest" of the decade rather than best as I would rate them in fantasy head-to-head match-ups. ** I only feel knowledgable enough to give a top 10 on the 2010s, since I was following every division and saw every meaningful fight. I could probably try to give one for the 2000s as well, but I'm still "working my way" through that decade and I'm not familiar enough with lower weight classes from that period, so will leave it for more knowledgable members.
Rummy gonna get a Netflix deal out of this after he collects all the Emmys! This is a massive undertaking. I will have to do a lot of research so I’m glad he’s giving us time. Challenge accepted.
I'm gonna start with doing a top ten in each decade in chronological order and then I'll add more names afterwards if I feel like it. I am way out of my comfort zone in the 1890s so if any expert of that period has some suggestions please feel free. I. 1890s 1. Bob Fitzsimmons 2. George Dixon 3. Tommy Ryan 4. Young Griffo 5. The 40's was the only decade I thought was easy and I was wrong. I had the same 4 you have plus Saddler, Ike Williams, Archie Moore, Charley Burley and some more but had to give up.

Definitely agree with your top 3 for 1960s and 1970s. I would slide Larry Holmes in just ahead of Mike Tyson in the 1980s though. Good listings for all decades. Will think about my own list. Definitely
1940's 1) Sugar Ray Robinson 2) Ezzard Charles 3) Willie Pep 4) Sandy Saddler 5) Joe Louis 6) Archie Moore 7) Marcel Cerdan 8) Charley Burley 9) Kid Gavilan 10) Manuel Ortiz 11) Lloyd Marshall 12) Billy Conn 13) Beau Jack 14) Jersey Joe Walcott 15) Lew Jenkins 16) Dave Sands 17) Fritzie Zivic 18) Holman Williams 19) Jake LaMotta 20) Willie Joyce 21) Johnny Bratton 22) Tony Zale 23) Bob Montgomery 24) Billy Graham 25) Joey Maxim 1970's 1) Muhammad Ali 2) Joe Frazier 3) George Foreman 4) Roberto Duran 5) Jose Napoles 6) Carlos Monzon 7) Danny Lopez 8) Rueben Olivares 9) Bob Foster 10) Ken Norton 11) Wilfred Benitez 12) Ken Buchanan 13) Bobby Chacon 14) Rodrigo Valdez 15) Jerry Quarry 16) Esteban DeJesus 17) Earnie Shavers 18) Jimmy Young 19) Carlos Palomino 20) Marvin Johnson
I think Tyson's reign in the 80s was more impressive than Holmes's in 80s overall, Tyson actually unified and cleaned out the division which Holmes never really did after 82 atleast.
I mean you can look at it a few different ways, do you factor into what Holmes did in the 70s aswell ? When ranking him in the 80s ? But I also think Holmes losing 3 times in the 80s, counts against him aswell when ranking him. Say what you want about Tyson, but his 80s reign was very impressive to me atleast. I've always felt like Tyson gets overrated by casuals, but at the sametime gets a bit underrated by hardcore boxing fans.
