I'm a big fan of the importance of world title fights, especially in earlier eras when it was rare to win a belt cheaply as compared to the post-2000 era. This thought process, definitely informed my choices. The numbers after the names are their overall records in the 1960s and their title fight records from the decade. I tried to be exact but I may have possibly made an error. Also, I included other "honorable mentions" just for fun and as a point of comparison. VIII. 1960s 1. Muhammad Ali 28-0-0 / 10-0-0 2. Quick update here... I will be traveling quite a bit for the next 6 weeks or so, and with some big cards coming up that I'm hoping to cover, I'm honestly not sure when I will get around to the 1960s. But I hope it should be around early July.
The 1960s is underway. I'm hopeful it will be done before month end, but at worse it should be fairly early in July.

I've lurked this forum for long enough and watched all the videos leading up to the 1970s, but I feel now is my time to take part... IX 1970s 1. Carlos Monzon - 25-0 during the 70s w/ marquee wins vs Benvenuti x2, Griffith x2, Valdez x2, and Napoles. 2. Roberto Duran - 12 title defences. It was the 70s that made Duran a great fighter, but the 80s is where he became an ATG. 3. Wilfredo Gomez - Undefeated in the 70s w/ 10 title defences. 4. Muhammad Ali - Arguably past his best but still coming out with marquee wins against ATG's with only 3 losses. 5. Alexis Arguello - 2 division champ w/ marquee wins against Kobayashi, Olivares, Legra, Escalera x2, Limon, & Chacon. 6. Miguel Canto 7. Carlos Zarate 8. Bob Foster 9. Jose Cuevas 10. Antonio Cervantes 11. Jose Napoles 12. Ruben Olivares 13. George Foreman 14. Nicolino Locche 15. Joe Frazier
