As in, what are you looking for to say a fighter has an Iron Chin?

-> Never Being wobbled or "in trouble"?

-> Being "in trouble" or wobbled, but always staying dangerous?

-> Being knocked down hard, but never out, while staying dangerous/competitive?

-> Simply Never Being Ko'd Ever?

-> Simply Never Being knocked down ever?

    Vote it out :good

If I haven't posted your opinion, post what you look for to consider a fighter to have an iron chin.

Hmm well Hagler was hurt against Hearns but still is known to have an iron chin
Pac was very hurt against Marquez but got over it fast and is believed to have an iron chin.. So I guess it's choice #4.

I mean never having been hurt or wobbled could mean that you've never been caught with a big shot.

To the bold, yea I agree for the most part, but there are just some fighters that seem to never be truely hurt, but probably for that reason, they never were hit with the right punch.

Hmmm did I just make any sense?

I consider JMM to have an iron chin, so I'll go with being knocked down, but always staying danerous :good

Being able to take punches, especially the ones from power punchers that have high KD/KO %. SRR had an iron chin but lost it in his late career

It sucks too, because in 30 years, that lone 1996 tko loss will forever cause skepticism on his overall punch resistance too :-(

Calzaghe has been down but he has an iron chin. I take the first option, never been knocked out.
And body KOs don't count. I would say for instance that Oscar DeLa Hoya had and iron chin.

Hmmm personally when I say chin, obvisously a chin is on your face, but to me one's "chin" encompasses that fighters complete ability to take a punch, Head and Body. Body shot ko's are still called Knock Outs.

But if that's your opinion on ko's, you're entitled to it :good Good point to bring up on this subject.

De La Hoya is a good example. He has an iron chin (I even dare say granite). He can eat punches to the head like candy, Baldomir style. So a knockout defeat like the one he had against Hopkins shouldn't put his chin in question.
